Father's Day, Quick and Simple

Hello there, glad you stopped by!

I have a really quick post for a really quick and easy card!. Yep, one more Father's day card, I have to take advantage of this male inspiration while it lasts!

I saw another really great sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches and fully intended to play along, but I was late in getting my post up.  EESH!  Well, I thought I would share my card anyway.  If you would like to see the other cards made with this challenge, you can view them here.

I love how simple this card is, a bit out of my comfort zone, but I love how it turned out.

I used the colours Early Espresso, Pool Party and Whisper White.  I used the stampsets Best Dad Ever and The Open Sea, a little retired Designer Series Paper and some Hemp Twine and voila.....

here is my card.  Let me know what you think!

Have a wonderful Saturday!

Father's Day with Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge #186

Hello there my stampin' friends!
I have a father's day card to show you today that we made at my 'male inspired' card class this week.  We focused on Father's Day cards as well as masculine birthday cards for the men in our lives.
I found some great inspiration over at Hand Stamped Sentiments!  You have to stop by and have a look at the wonderful inspiration!  I just love the sketch they have this week!
I always struggle with making cards for men and boys, and that is just crazy because my house is all boys except for me!  You would think that I should be used to that boyish stuff by now!  Or .....maybe you could say my cards are my girly time and so that is my focus? ANY how, I have a card to show you today that I am really happy with how it turned out!
I chose a nautical theme (can't get any more boy than that!) and I just love the traditional red, white and blue colours together.  I used my The Open Sea stampset for the image and the Teeny Tiny Wishes for the greeting.
Here is my card......

I used my Ovals framelits to frame the image and some twine to give it some softness - I just couldn't resist!

I hope you enjoyed my card.  Now head on over to Hand Stamped Sentiments!

father's Day with Paper Craft Crew PCCCS094!

Hello there!  Thank you for stopping by!

I have a great sketch challenge to tell you about today....I saw a great sketch over at Paper Craft Crew and thought I would play along!

I was preparing for my Father's Day card class and thought this sketch would be great for a male inspired card.  I like to give my class attendees the ability to make their card with the greeting that they need, so this one could easily be changed to a birthday card - perfect for a little boy or girl!

I decided to use the Retro Fresh Designer Series paper for this card and I took my colour cues from that patterned paper.  I used my Teeny Tiny Wishes stampset for the greeting - that set has every occasion you could imagine!

Here is my do you think I did?

Be sure to stop over to Paper Craft Crew Challenges to see some great cards for your inspiration!

Peachy Keen!

Hello there!

Glad you stopped by today.  I have a very quick and easy card to show you today and it features one of my all time favourite punches - Scalloped Tag Punch!

I wanted to make a card that would be suitable for a quick note for one of my fiends and so this is what I came up with.

I used some great colours, Basic Grey, Very Vanilla and Pear Pizzazz.  I found some polka dot DSP from last year's Halloween pack that I hadn't used yet for one of my layers and I used my Pansy Punch to make a flower in Pear Pizzazz.

Here is a close up of my tag.  I used the Peachy Keen stampset for the greeting and one of the little flowers from the stampset Mixed Bunch, great for some background stampin' and the center of my flower.  A bright and cheerful card for one of my besties!

Fab Friday 41 with Graduation

Hello there my Stampin' friends!
I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's day!  Weather you are a mom or spent time with your mom, it always makes for a wonderful day!  I was spoiled by the wonderful boys (and their father) in my house!  I am just so lucky to be their mom!  They made some projects for me at school and breakfast in bed - thank you daddy! - and they were so proud of themselves that they made me a home made card!  They used  some Pretty in Pink Stampin'UP! cardstock and even used my 'scorer thingy' otherwise known as my paper trimmer!  lol
Speaking of cards, I have a graduation card to show you today and I decided to participate in the Fab Friday sketch challenge!  So much fun!
A few of my regular card class ladies had requested a Graduation card and I thought this layout would be perfect!
I decided to use some leftover Christmas DSP - what?  Yep, but this doesn't even look like Christmas when you don't use Christmas stamps!  The pattern is in Pool Party which I thought would be great for a boy or a girl.  I used some star punches from my Christmas mini's set and a retired larger one.  I also used my Decorative Label Punch  - LOVE that one - and I punched it out twice to make a fake border buy cutting it in half and gluing it to the back of the Label with the verse on it.
The verse comes from the retired stamp set Party Time.  I added some rhinestones and voila!  A graduation card!
Thank you Fab Friday for some great inspiration!

Mother's Day Scalloped Tag Topper Punch Card!

Hello there!

I have a mother's day card to show you today that I have entered into the Stampin' Royalty Challenge #227 - May Flowers!  If you haven't arrived here from there, make sure you stop by, the inspiration is gorgeous as usual!
My card features another retiring Stamp set - Delightful Dozen!  I can't believe this one is retiring!  It has to be one of my 'go to' stamp sets.  It has, yep you guessed it, a dozen occasions that can be used for...mother's day, father's day, birthday, Easter, Valentines.....

I also decided to try this Scallped Tag Punch card I have been seeing all over the internet!  It was really fun to try! It is a total layout case from Tanya Bell. You can see her video tutorial here.  Super talented to have thought of this!  Another awesome reason to have this punch in your collection!

Go ahead and give this layout a try!  It makes such a pretty card!
