Father's Day with Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge #186

Hello there my stampin' friends!

I have a father's day card to show you today that we made at my 'male inspired' card class this week.  We focused on Father's Day cards as well as masculine birthday cards for the men in our lives.

I found some great inspiration over at Hand Stamped Sentiments!  You have to stop by and have a look at the wonderful inspiration!  I just love the sketch they have this week!

I always struggle with making cards for men and boys, and that is just crazy because my house is all boys except for me!  You would think that I should be used to that boyish stuff by now!  Or .....maybe you could say my cards are my girly time and so that is my focus? ANY how, I have a card to show you today that I am really happy with how it turned out!

I chose a nautical theme (can't get any more boy than that!) and I just love the traditional red, white and blue colours together.  I used my The Open Sea stampset for the image and the Teeny Tiny Wishes for the greeting.

Here is my card......

I used my Ovals framelits to frame the image and some twine to give it some softness - I just couldn't resist!

I hope you enjoyed my card.  Now head on over to Hand Stamped Sentiments!

Happy Stampin'

  3. Great masculine card! It's clean but plenty of pattern and the twine adds just the right feel. Thanks for playing the sketch at HSS! Erika

  5. I like your card. The Open Sea is such a great set for masculine cards and I love nautical anyway. I would totally make this for my father for Father's day!
