A Gift for ME!

Hello there!  Happy first day of summer break!  My now six year old woke up extra extra early today....6:15 am!  (I couldn`t wake him up at this time for school if I tried)  and he was yelling It's SUMMER from his bed!  Can you believe it!  What a way to wake up.  My baby just loves his time off from school WAY too much  lol

My post today is an awesome surprise that was given to me this week at my card class.  A beautiful present for ME!

A wonderful lady, Laurie MacIntosh, has become a good friend because of Stampin'UP! and she made me this thank you gift.  Wait until you see it - WOW!  My pictures won`t do it justice, but I will try.

Laurie made this beautiful box with a cute belly band - I couldn't wait to get it open.

Inside, I found this  beautiful note pad and pen - perfect for all those lists that a mom needs to make.

Here is a close up.  Laurie embossed the whisper white background using perfect poka dots embossing folder and her big shot.  She used the stamp set By the Tide and fussy cut the shell and seahorse and popped them up on dimensionals.  The coral was stamped directly onto the white, before it was embossed and the greeting was a stamp from her collection and punched out with an oval punch.  Don`t forget that new Thick Baker`s Twine.  You can't see it but there is some dazzling details on there as well!  Gorgeous!

Below is the card that she made.  It had a matching envelope that she made using the envelope punch board  - an awesome tool to have!

Isn`t this card beautiful!  The dress and dress form are retired framelits.  The dress is popped up and decorated with By the Tide stampset.  Can you see the little bow made with twine.....there are tiny little sea shells on the ends!

The thank you greeting comes from Itty Bitty Banners set and matching framelits!

Thank you Laurie for this thoughtful and oh so BEAUTIFUL gift!

Happy Stampin`,

Summer Fun with Sea Street!

Hello there!

Thank you for stopping by!  I have a really fun card that I made with my card class ladies this week.  It features the Sea Street Stamp set, and the Maritime Designer Series Paper that is in this year's Annual Catalogue!  I just love the colours in this DSP and they are a perfect fit for the colour challenge over at Stampin' Royalty, although I missed it.  But, you must stop by there to see the great cards that have been created!

I thought I would enter this into the most recent challenge over at SUO Challenges.  Their challenge was a summer theme - this fits perfectly!  If you haven't seen the great inspiration there, you must hop on over there too!  SO much talent!

Here is my card......

I started with a Night of Navy Card Base and then a Real Red layer, then I added the DSP onto that.  I cut each layer 1/4 shorter so that you can really see it.  I wrapped some Navy ribbon around the two top layers.

I stamped that cute little octopus in Night of Navy and cut him out using the 2 1/2" circle punch.  The real red circle was made using the Circle framelits.  I popped them up using dimensionals.  I used some scrap pieces to stamp and frame my greeting, which by the way is from the And Many More stamp set from the new catalogue as well!  I LOVE this set!  It can be used for SO many occasions!

I finished it off with a bow.  This will be perfect for my cousin's little boy who will be turning 2 in a couple of weeks!

I hope you enjoyed my card.

Father's Day with Rogers

Hello there my stampin' friends!  Thank you for stopping by!

I has been a little bit since my last post, but I think I have everything under control for now!

June is a really busy month for the Gill household...like most people in Ontario, there is the end of the school year which means teacher and bus driver thank yous are being created and delivered, summer plans to be made, Father's day celebrations and for me all three of my children have birthday's this month too!

Although it is always SO much fun to celebrate their birthday's you begin to look like a cake by the end of it all!

Something else that has kept me busy, is I have had a second appearance on the Roger's Daytime TV show!  This time was a father's day theme!  I had SO much fun playing with some new tools and products from the new Stampin'Up! catalogue!  I just LOVE getting some new things for my stamp space!

Here are some pictures of my display..

I got the new Star Framelits!  They are awesome for a mom with boys in hockey!  Perfect for some scapbooking pages, birthday and thank you cards!

I took my colour cue from the DSP Maritime fun - Red, White and Blue, a real classic.  I added some Crumb Cake to give another base color to work with.

I used the Sea Street Stamp set and the DSP to make one of the cards I had on display.

I used the Star Framelits and my Mini Star Punch to make this card - we made this one live on TV as well.  Do you see that?  The new catalogue in the background?

I also made a card using the new Time Travel Stampset with a calmer feel.  The greeting on all of my projects is from the new set called And Many More - every greeting you can think of is in this set!

I couldn't resist getting the Mustache framelit and making some fun mustaches.  We opened my segments with them - my kids loved them too!

We finished the show by making a treat holder using the new Hamburger Big Z die!  Oh my!  What a great little box!  I finished it off with some DSP and a paper bow using the Bow Big Die.  The tag is a part of the Hamburger die!

As always it is really fun to see everyone at Roger's!  Thank you to Deanne, the producer and to Melanie and Alex, the two wonderfully talented hosts for a great season!  Enjoy the summer break!

I hope my pictures helped with some summer time inspiration!

Wedding Card with the Paper Players Challenge 198!

Hello, thanks for stopping by!

Last week I had another wonderful opportunity to demonstrate some Stampin'UP! products on the Roger's TV show, Daytime!  The theme for the show was a wedding theme - I was SO excited to use some of our products to create some wonderful wedding items.  I will have more pictures from that show at a later date, so stay tuned!

As I looked around the internet, I saw that The Paper Players were having a wedding theme challenge - my lucky day!

I had made two cards for the show, but I liked one better than the other, and so I thought I would enter my favourite of the two into the challenge!

Here is a picture of the card that I took at the station - the lighting was amazing and so it turned out much better than the ones I took at home - lesson to be learned there!

I started out with Whisper White cardstock for my base and my top layer that I embossed with the Beautifully Baroque embossing folder - I just love this embossing folder - perfect for a wedding!  I added a layer of the Glimmer Cardstock beneath the embossed cardstock.  I wrapped some of the organza ribbon around two of the layers and created a nice big bow!  Such pretty ribbon and great to work with.

I used the stampset Label Love and matching Artisan Punch for my greeting.  I stamped in Metallic Silver. I punched an extra Artisan Label out of the glimmer paper, cut it in half to create a glimmer edge around the top an bottom - gives the sentiment a little bit more pizzazz!

Here is a close up.

I hope this inspires you!

Happy Stampin'
