Baby Card

Hello there my Stampin' friends,

I have a card to show you that I made some time ago for my cousin who had a beautiful baby girl!  They had a 'welcome' party for her and I wanted to make her a very special card!

I knew I wanted it very pink and with lots of layers - I wanted this card as 'girly' as possible!  I used my Colour Coach to help with the colour combination and tones to choose - the Colour Coach takes the guess work out!  A tool I couldn't live without!

I used my DSP stacks for getting some great patterned paper in the colours I picked.  I used 2 retired stampsets that are perfect for a new baby!  Baby Prints and Cuddles and Kisses!

I layered it up with the pink and green cardstock and used my Ticket Corner Punch and Scallped Edge Border Punch and my favourite Decorative Label Punch for my greeting.

Here is my card!

I hope that it inspires you!

Festival of Trees with Stampin' Royalty

Hello my Stampin' friends,

I have a Christmas card to show you today...because it's never too early to get those little things checked off your list!  Have you started your cards yet?

I found an awesome sketch challenge over at Stampin' Royalty with challenge SR#246!  That got my creative mind working!  I chose my colours after choosing my patterned paper - and now I am well on my way!

I knew I wanted to use my new Festival of Trees bundle - save 15% when you buy the stampset and matching punch!  I LOVE matching punches and I LOVE bundle pricing!  Who doesn't love a deal, right?  But I do have a bit of a confession....this stampset is Photopolymer - I have never tried this kind of stamp before.  After all, I was very happy with my rubber stamps in wood and clear, so I was hesitant to give these new stamps a try!

So as a skeptic, I can say...they are GREAT!  Here are the pluses that I noticed.  First there is no assembly!  You aren't mounting these on wood OR putting the sticker on them so you can see what you are stampin'.  The next awesome thing I noticed was that they are SUPER clingy to the blocks!  The third wonderful thing about these stamps was that they are SO easy to clean!  And, last by not least, you can see EXACTLY where you are stampin'....the Festival of Trees stampset is a two-step stampset and the photopolmer makes this really easy to do.  If you haven't tried these stampsets, take it from a skeptic like me, they are awesome!

So you are probably wanting to see my card, well, here is it....

I hope you like my card.

Fall Card with The Friday Mahsup - # FM177

Hello there my Stampin' friends,

Thanks for stopping by!  The Friday Mashup has a Fall challenge this week!  I am SO excited!  I just love this time of year - yes it's busy, I mean really busy, but I love the routine and I love the feeling in the air that holidays are just around the corner and most of all I LOVE the weather!  So many beautiful things to see and the leaves - OH I just love the leaves and all of their colour.

So....I felt up to the challenge of a fall 'inkspired' card and of course I chose to put some leaves on it! lol

I started with an Early Espresso card base, then a layer Pear Pizzaz.  I used a narrow strip of some retired fall DSP and I used my Autumn Accents Bigz Die to make the leaves.  I added some sponging using Early Espresso to give them some definition.  My greeting is the Label of Love stampset with the coordinating punch - Artisan Label.  I used my punch to cut an extra label in Early Espresso and cut it in half to create a 'border' of sorts.  Last but not least, I added a twine bow!

Here is my card.....

So hop on over to The Friday Mashup to see what everyone has create!

Mixed Bunch with Pals Paper Arts #PPA219

Good morning!  Happy Saturday to you.

It's definitely starting to feel like fall here in Ontario.  The leaves have started turning colour, the nights are getting really cool and I needed to pull long pants and hoodies out for the kids to wear this week at school!

So.....when Pals Paper Ats came up with a fall colour combo for their challenge this week, I just had to take advantage of it!  I didn't have the exact colours that the 'recipe' called for, so I hope I haven't broken any rules. But I thought I would give it a try anyway!

When I think fall, I think of those big beautiful sunflowers - so I just had to include one in my card.  I thought the Crushed Curry was the perfect colour and the Mixed Bunch stampset and matching punch (Blossom Punch) were ideal to make a great sunflower!  I love that you can punch out the flower center as well using the 1" circle punch - easy!  The leaves for my flower were made using the Autumn Accents Bigz Die.

I used up some of my retired Designer Series Paper - I AM addicted to that stuff!  lol  This paper in particular is from last year's Christmas DSP - I just love that it doesn't say Christmas and I LOVE those polka dots!

Here is my card.........

What do you think?

I improvised a little with Old Olive instead of Always Artichoke and I used Baked Brown Sugar in place of Cajun Craze - it was as close as I had.

My greeting is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and I finished it off with a large candy dot I had in my stash.

Fall Fun with Stampin' Royalty SR #244

Hello there,

Thank you for stopping by!

I know it has been a long time since I have posted.....oh how time flies!  I have got all 3 of my babies off to school and the hockey schedule has started for my oldest!  and what a season it is going to be!  Already a tournament (proud mom moment here) and he played really great!  Just what you aim for when you start on a new team!

Here are some pictures from my where abouts........

This is my oldest, starting grade 10 this year!

This is my middle.  He is starting grade 6 this year!

And here is my baby....starting grade 1!

Well, I bet you are wanting to see the card I have to show you today.

I decided to get some inspiration from Stampin' Royalty - they had an awesome challenge looking for black and white cards with a hint of colour.  To me that meant something fall!  I just LOVE this time of year and I love to make lots to help celebrate it!

Here is the card I came up with .....

I really like the colour combination black, white and orange.  I used some patterned paper from my paper stacks I had in my stash as well as some chevron ribbon in black and white.  I cut it in half length wise to give me one to tie with and one to wrap around - it really stretches the ribbon.  I even used a tiny scrap for my pumpkin handle.

I used my largest oval punch to make my punch art pumpkin!  I really LOVE making these!  I just love to use them on scrapbooking pages as well as cards.  I was sure to sponge the edges with pumpkin pie ink to give it some extra definition.

The stampset I used was Teeny Tiny Wishes, perfect for so many occasions.

I hope you have enjoyed my card.  Be sure to stop on by to Stampin' Royalty to see all of the great cards posted there!
