Seize the Birthday with Just Add Ink

Hi there stampers,

So glad you stopped by today - thank you!  I have a really fun card to show you and I am using a 'new to me' stampset!  Garden in Bloom!  Have you tried it yet?  It is a two step stampset.  I Love it!  Here is the card I made....

I decided to participate in 2 blog challenges when I created this card.  They are Just Add Ink and Seize the Birthday.  Two fabulous challenge blogs, make sure you check both of them out if you have stopped here first.  Here are the challenges:

Just Add Ink had a great sketch challenge.....

JAI #275

And Seize the Birthday had a great theme challenge....

"Anything that Flies"

Here is a closer look at my card....

I thought that these challenges lent themselves nicely to an enhanced version of the card found in the Annual Catalogue.  I started with a Hello Honey card base, then added a Soft Suede layer to frame the DSP from the English Garden pack.  Finally, I stamped directly onto Vellum cardstock using StazOn ink, the best ink to use with Vellum.  I love the way the DSP shows through it.  I finished the card off with some Hello Honey ribbon.

Happy Stampin'

Tammy

  1. This is such a pretty card for both challenges Tammy! I love your use of the vellum layer to soften the look of the DSP and using your sentiment as the circle element in the sketch - so clever! Thanks for joining us at Just Add Ink this week :-)
