A Royalty Christmas with Snow Friends

Hello there,

Luckily, over at Stampin' Royalty Challenge, they have a winter theme challenge for us!

Have you seen all the great cards there?  You can find them here ....Stampin' Roaylty Challenge SR#305

SO, I have another Christmas card for you today using a stampset and matching framelits that I just LOVE!

Yep, you guessed it, Snow Friends!  These little guys are the cutest!  Just like playing with paper dolls.

I used my decorative dots  to create some snow falling in the background and used some of the shimmery white cardstock to make a little snow hill for my snow friends to play on.  I thought it looked a little pain, so I added a Christmas tree using the Festival of Trees stampset and coordinating tree punch.

Finally, I topped my tree with a silver star.

Stampin Celebration Challenge!

Well, it's Stampin' Celebration Challenge time again (I just LOVE when I get to tell you that!)  .....and we have a sketch for you this week.
I have to bit honest here and say that I struggled with this one a bit - but that's exactly what challenges are for, right?

So, I checked in with my designer sisters to see how they were interpreting the sketch.  Have you seen them?  They are great.  And once I got started my card just came together quickly!

Well, here is what I designed with this challenge in mind....

I knew I wanted to make another Christmas card and I love Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler together - they are my favourite red and green to use at Christmas time.  The patterned paper in the DSP stack...Merry Moments was a perfect fit.

I wanted to add a little sparkle to the greeting, so I added some stars in silver foil.  I made them using the Confetti Star Punch.

When I punched them out, I got lots of little stars.  I didn't want them to go to waste, so, I thought I would add them too.

Please make sure you join us at Stampin' Celebration Challenge!  We LOVE seeing all of great cards you create.

Joyful Season with Paper Craft Crew Challenges - PCCCS #170: Card Sketch

Hello,

Glad you stopped by!  Have you noticed the Joyful Season stampset in the Holiday Catalogue?  SO pretty.  Perfect for winter card giving. I have stamped him in yellow to make him a canary (find that post here) , and today I have stamped in red for a cardinal - I think I will try blue next to make him a blue jay!

Today, I decided to play along with the Paper Craft Crew Challenges - they have an awesome sketch for us... here is it ..

Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch 170. #papercraftcrew #cardsketch

I loved the banners and the placement of the sentiment.  I used a bow instead of the flower and the Deco shape instead of the watercolouring background.  What do you think?

I really liked how the card turned out.  Thanks for the inspiration Paper Craft Crew!

Paper Craft Crew + Curtian Call = Christmas

I have another Christmas card for you today!  I created it using two challenges - so much fun when you can use two!

They are...

Curtian Call Challenge Blog with a wonderful picture for inspiration.  Just look at the cozy plaid!  I love this picture, perfect when you are snuggling in for the winter.

And also...

The Paper Craft Crew - I just love the sketch they had for us this week!

Paper Craft Crew Challenge 169. #papercraftcrew #cardsketch

So I combined the two to create a cozy and merry Christmas card.

I thought it turned out pretty cute, so I decided to make another one using a different plaid pattern.  What do you think?

Be sure to stop by the challenge blogs to see all the fabulous cards.

Stampin' Celebration Challenge

Happy Monday!

Did you survive Halloween?  My guys had a great time with their trick or treating.  Lots of candy and lots of sugary energy in this house!

I am very happy to say it's time for another Stampin' Celebration Challenge and this week we have some picture inspiration for you!  Are you a fan of yellow, grey and white?  If so, this is your week!  These pictures are so much fun!

Polka dots, stripes, flowers, birds and scalloped edges.  So many great themes to focus on, I had a hard time choosing.  So I decided to make two cards - my first card is my favourite, but both were created using the inspiration pictures.

So I decided to try the Joyful Season stamp for a card other than Christmas.  I thought the cardinal could maybe turned into a cockatial if I stamped him in yellow - well, OK I guess he can be a yellow cardinal, but I think he is pretty cute anyway.  I popped him up with some layered circles using my Circle Framelits and dimensionals.

Did you notice the little diamond pattern in the birds in inspiration picture?  I had to really zoom in - well that's what brought me to my pattern behind the our little yellow friend.  My greeting is from the stampset Remembering Your Birthday.  I really like the font and the size.

For my second card, I used some oldies but goodies!  I started with a Smokey Slate card base again, but added a layer of Daffodil Delight, then a layer of grey and white striped DSP.

I put a strip of Daffodil Delight edged with my Scallop Punch.  I created some flowers out of yellow and white polka dot DSP using my Pansy and Blossom Punches then layered them on top of each other and then added a bow.  I used my Bird Builder Punch to create a grey and white little bird and placed him right on top of the bow.  I LOVED how that looked in the inspiration picture

Last but not least, I added some grey leaves to my flowers.  I purposefully left the card without a greeting - because I thought it can be used for anything.

I sure hope you join us at Stampin' Celebration Challenge!  We can't wait to see what you create!

Remember, inky fingers are the happiest fingers.
