Fall Blogging Friends Blog Hop!

 Happy September 1st everyone!

It's blog hop time with my blogging friends.  This month we are sharing projects made using a picture for inspiration!  It is a beautiful fall picture.

Image may contain: table and indoor

Beautiful, right?  It makes me want to start my fall decorating!

I was honoured in July to have added 3 new members to my Stampers Inkspired team!  I wanted to make them some thank you gifts and so I used this picture to help.

So, for my blog hop today I have two projects I created for their thank you goodie bag.

To start, I purchased some of the new fun fall hand soaps at Bath and Body works - I am a sucker for the pumpkin scents!  lol  So, I just had to decorate them up with some tags.  They are a very similar tag to one you would put on a wine bottle for a hostess gift, just smaller.  These measure 3" x 7" and then scored on the long side at 3".  I then used my 2" circle punch to create the hole for the nozzle to fit through.

One of my all time favourite things to do is punch art and fall is the perfect time!  I just love making pumpkins with my circle and oval punches or framelits.  I cut three of the same size and then sponge each of the edges.  My small circle pumpkin is made using Pumpkin Pie cards stock and ink and my larger pumpkin is made using Very Vanilla cardstock and Sahara Sand Ink.  The stems are a scrap of Old Olive.

The base of the tag is made using Early Espresso cardstock and the next layer is the Wood Textures DSP.  The greeting is from the Treehouse Adventure stampset, new in the annual catalogue!  I thought this greeting was fitting for a new demonstrator - what do you think?

My next 3D item to share is a hand stanitizer holder that I cased from one of my favourite demonstrators - Eric Cerwin of Pink Buckaroo Designs.  She has a video that shares how she made them and you can find that here.

I altered mine slightly and opted out of the peekaboo hole in the front.  The jars are made with the Every Day Jar Framelits and the greeting from the is from the Jar of Love stampset.  The colours I used are Real Red and Old Olive and the 'stem' is a scrap of Early Espresso.  I finished them off with some Twine.

I placed some apple scented hand sanitizer inside!  I just LOVE how they turned out.

The thank you bags were finished off with a pair of papersnips and a giant chocolate bar - can always use some chocolate.  Two of the bags have been delivered and I will be delivering one more next week!  So excited to share this adventure with them.

Now, be sure to hop on through our blog hop to see everyone's creation.  Next up is Rick - I always love to see what he creates.

Happy stampin'

Summer Time fun before it's over!

Hello there my stampin' friends,

As summer starts to wind down here in Ontario, my family and I enjoyed some local holiday fun to celebrate the summer weather!  What better way then to enjoy some beachy sunsets....

...enjoying some activities at the beach..

...and jumping off the pier!  One of our must do's every summer!

I had to share our summer fun with you, but, I am sure you came to see what card I had to share today, so I will get to it.  lol

Over at Global Design Project, they had a case the designer card.  I love the designer's card because the focal point if front and center.  Here is my card to join in the fun...

And here is the challenge photo...

I wanted to use my Bike Builder stampset before the summer is completely over and I wanted some bright fun colours to use with it.  I also needed a get well card, so I combined them all to create this card.

I moved my focal point to one side so you can see the tires on the background cardstock.

I like how it turned out.  Let me know what you think!

Be sure to hop on over the Global Design Project  to see all of the fun projects made with this challenge in mind.

Turn Lemons into Oranges?

Happy Monday stampers,

I have a super cute card to share with you today.  I wanted to share it with the folks over at The Paper Players - they have a fun challenge today called Fruits and Veggies!

I wanted to create card using some fun summer like colours and I wanted to use my Lemon Zest stampset for something a little different - how about some grapefruit and oranges!  Here is my card....

I started with a Pumpkin Pie card base, then layered a Melon Mambo and then added a layer of Whisper white.  I stamped my greeting directly onto the Whisper White Melon Mambo.

I stamped my 'oranges' and 'grapefruits' on a separate piece of Whisper White and punched each one out using the 2" Circle Punch. The lighter and darker of each colour was stamped using first and second generation ink.  So, the darker image was stamped directly after inking up my stamp and then the lighter image was stamped onto a scrap of paper, then onto my Whisper White cardstock, giving a lighter image.

I attached the two layers and then wrapped my twine.  I attached three of the fruit directly to the Whisper white and then popped the forth up on dimensionals.

Finally, I added a bow and attached it to the twine with a glue dot.

Thank you for stopping by.  Be sure to visit The Paper Players to see all of the projects that were created using this challenge.

TGIF!

Hey there,

So glad you could stop by today - TGIF!  I am SO happy it is Friday.

AND, TGIF Challenges has a wonderful challenge to play along with today to celebrate the end of the week.  Here is their challenge sketch.

Ahh, summer days. I have a love/hate relationship with them.  Yes, you read that right.  I love summer!  I love the activities of summer, I love the heat, I love the casualness of them, but, I love when they come to an end.  I have three boys and whether we like to admit it or not, we love routine and structure.  So, I will be happy to have regular bed times, cozy nights and comfort meals when fall arrives.

But first, let's enjoy the season and this week's challenge at TGIF is doing just that.  I love that rainbow umbrella and that beach scene. The umbrella is the inspiration in these cards.

I recently had a techniques class using Brusho - my class attendees loved it.  These cards are the two samples I had for them both made using the same technique.  My goal was to show how different they can look, even when you do things the same.  I like them both, but my favourite is on the right.

For these cards, I first heat embossed the flower three times using Whisper White embossing powder.  Then I added water to my the bottom third of the page using my aquapainter to keep the water controlled. You want to start with a lot of colour on your paper.   I then sprinkled my Bursho powder ink and moved the colour around using my aquapainter.

I repeated that process three times for each colour.  Then, I added some water and bursho to a clearblock to get some concentrated colour.  I used my aquapainter to add the more concentrated colour inside each of the flowers.   I wanted them to stand out a bit from the colour wash to the side.

Finally, I fussy cut around the right edge to have more of the black card base showing for contrast.  These cards totally remind me of the beach!  Which card do you like better?

Don't forget to hop back over to TGIF Challenges to see all of the projects created with this challenge in mind.

Coffee, Please?

Happy Thursday!

I have a super quick card for you today using one of my favourite returning framelits!  It matches perfectly with the sketch they have this week over at Freshly Made Sketches!

When new catalogues come out there are so many exciting new things to try and use, that I need a little reminder of my older favourites too!  This card is just that!

I flipped the sketch to have the coffee cup at the bottom of my card instead of the top and added a bow instead of a sentiment.  Sometimes I like to leave the front of the card without a  message.

There are lots of things I love about this card, the first is the adorable coffee cup!  Who can't use a card with a coffee cup on it for their stash - you never know when you might need a quick thank you to insert a little gift card.

The second thing I love about this card are the colours - they totally speak to me with Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Whisper White and Balmy Blue!

The third thing I love is having generic cards in my stash for a moments notice.

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to hop on back to Freshly Made Sketches to see the fun cards created for this challenge!

Summer time Daisy

Hi there stampers,

I have a quick card to share with you today that is a perfect summer time card.  It is a perfect card to submit to the latest challenge over at Inspire.Create.Challenge

The theme is floral!  I just love a nice floral card for the summer time.  I chose to use the Daisy Punch and Daisy Delight Stampset. I pulled some bright and fun DSP to use as my colour cue for this card. Who doesn't love a Navy, White and Yellow combo when you are talking daisies?

I wanted a Thank you card because you always need some of them in your stash.  The sentiments in Daisy Delight have such amazing fonts.

I left a nice big border using the card base to really bring out the yellow in the center of the daisy as well as in the DSP.

Thank you for joining  me today.  Be sure to stop on in at  Inspire.Create.Challenge to see all of the amaizing flower power that was created with this challenge.

Take me to the Sea!

Hello friends!

I have a fun card to share with you today.  It was one of the cards we recently created in my Bursho Techniques card class and it matches perfectly with the theme over at Global Design Project this week.

A fun theme as we wind down summer, don't you think?

So, you won't believe this, but before my Busho class last month, I hadn't tried it yet!  I know, right?  What was I thinking.  Here is the first of 3 cards that I made in preparation for the class.

I love how it turned out!  I tried 2 different Brusho techniques with this card.  The first is for the water, or shall I say sea.....  I first sprinkled the brilliant blue Bursho onto the bottom third of the watercolour cardstock.  Then I spritzed water using one of our spritzers and sprayed it away from me to keep the colour at the bottom of the page.  LOVE it!

The second technique I used on this card was adding the Brusho directly onto the swirly circle, then adding water again using a spritzer directly onto the swirly circle and then stamped.  Admittedly, I did do this a couple of times to get the amount of colour I was wanting, but during class, my attendees only had to do it once as there was residue from the stamper before them.

I set it aside and gave time for the colour to set and the paper to dry before I stamped my sailboat and sentiment and added my 'waves'.  I hope you like how it turned out and maybe inspired you to try some Busho on your next card.

Thank you for joining me.  Be sure to stop on over to Global Design Project to see all of the creations that were created with this challenge in mind.

Vote for Me!

Image may contain: text

 Hello everyone,

I am so excited to be joining the International Blog Hop with Kylie Bertucci!  She is an uber famous demonstrator that lives in Australia and she hosts an international blog hop each month where folks from all over the world cast their vote on their top 5 favourites in the hop!  EEK!

The Top Ten winners will take part in an international blog hop on September 4th/5th.

The theme this month is Tescher thank you’s!  One of my favourite things to create are thank yous for teachers.  Whether it is a 3-D item or a special thank you card, I love showing  my children’s teachers how much I appreciate all that they do for our children.

Right now in Ontario, Canada, my kids are on summer break so teacher gifts are off my mind.  But luckily I hadn’t shared one of the cards I made for the teachers this year yet!  So I thought I would share it in Kylie’s blog highlight this month.  Here is my card.

I love the new Animal Outing stampset that is on this years Annual Catalogue!  It is the perfect set to say thank you, to welcome a baby or wish someone a happy birthday!  I also love that I can use my Stampin’ Blends to colour these adorable animals!

I especially love this kangaroo and baby koala bear, perfect for a teacher and perfect for rjoining Kylie’s highlights given she is in Australia!  :)

I had lots of amazing feedback from my boys teachers this year on the gifts they received.  If you would like to see the 3-D items that accompanied this card, you can view them here.  And if you are looking for some further teacher thank you ideas, you can check my search bar at the side of my.blog.

A Beautiful Thing!

Hey there,

It is the Friday of a long weekend here in Ontario, Canada, so I have a super quick post for you today.  We are headed to the cottage for a family reunion and I can't wait!

But first, Fab Friday has an amazing sketch for us to play along with.  What a great way to end the week!

Here is the sketch..

Fun right?  SO many possibilities!

I have a card to share with your from my Seasonal Layers Bundle class that I didn't share before!  We had a ton of fun with this stampset and framelits, which are still available, just without the bundle price. These two are perfect for all four Canadian Seasons.  These two are one of my all time favourites.  Here is my card to share...

A good match for the sketch.  I wanted to show my card class ladies that the leaves are great to use as summer time leaves as well as with fall colours.  I used a couple of different greens on this card.  One for the small leaf, I stamped off on the large solid leaf and then full strength ink on the lined image over top.  For the leaves I used Old Olive and Pear Pizazz.

Of course, I wanted some layering around my sentiment witch is also from the Colourful Seasons Stampset and so I stamped it on a Whisper White Stitched Shapes circle and framed it with the large scalloped circle from the Layer Circles Thinlits.

I almost always have a bow - I just like how it finishes a card off.

Thank you for stopping by!  Be sure to stop on over at Fab Friday to see all that is created with this sketch in mind.

Happy stampin'
