Top Note Thank you!

Hello there!  I hope you are having a good day!

I have a quick post for you today!  The card I have to show you, I made a couple of weeks ago with my card class.  I have to say, this is one of my favourites!

I just love these colours together - Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Whisper White and Calypso Coral - really pretty!

I used some great tools on this cards too!  Core'dination's cardstock with my Top Note die and Big Shot, as well as my Secret Garden Framelits!  I used my Lot's of Thanks stamp set for  my greeting - you can never have enough thank you cards, right?

I used some left over Christmas DSP for the poka dots - it doesn't say Christmas at all - I just LOVE that it can be used after the holiday is over!  My larger flower is also using some left-over DSP and the smaller flower is solid cardstock.  I finished it up with one of the small buttons from the Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons pack and some Calypso Coral Baker's Twine!  The leaves are cut from the Secret Garden framelits in Old Olive.

I hope you enjoyed my card.  Until next time.

Field Flowers Thank you

Hello my Stampin' friends,

Today I have a card to show you that I made a few weeks ago with my card class, the ladies really enjoyed making this one.  I love these colours and they are desperately trying to get me into a spring kinda mood!  The good news is that our temperatures here in Ontario are trying to go up on the thermometer!  I can't wait for some of these snow banks to melt - some of them are almost as tall as the hydro lines!  ESH!

Anyway, onto my card  ;)  I used some great tools to make this card...I used some Coordination's cardstock, Banner framelits and my perfect poka dots embossing folder to create the banner. I sanded my poka dots a little bit so we can see the inside colour of the cardstock - so pretty!     My 'thank you' sentiment is from the Lots of Thanks Stampset.

I used my Field Flowers stampset on Very Vanilla which gives some big beautiful flowers.  I stamped each flower twice once in the Blushing Bride and then once again in Primrose Petals to match the cardstock colours.    The green colour I used for the stem is old olive and I used some of the same colour cardstock to frame out my flowers - ties it all together nicely.

I hope you enjoyed my card and some spring inspiration!

Black and White Birthday

Hello there!  Glad you stopped by!

I have a black and white card inspired by the sketch over at Create with Connie and Mary!  Make sure you hop on over to see all of the cards they have created!

For my card I stated with a black card base and layered with some newsprint DSP.  I used my ovals framelits to create a layered oval using black and Very Vanilla.

My sentiment is from Bring on the Cake!  I just love this set - perfect for any birthday!  I used one of the flowers from the stampset Flower Shop and stamped a little flower half on and half off in yellow.  I used the coordinating Pansy punch and punched a So Saffron flower and used my 7/8" Scalloped Circle punch to give me a center.  I wanted my flower to resemble a sunflower.  I added three little strips of black cardstock to the corner to follow the sketch - I liked how this card turned out.

I hope you enjoyed my version of the sketch.

Whisteria Wonder and Pals Paper Arts 196

Hi there my stampin' friends.

I found this awesome sketch challenge over at Pals Paper Arts.  Make sure you stop in there to have a look at all of the great cards that were made using this sketch as inspiration.

Here in southern Ontario, we had yet another dumping of snow on the weekend - I'm talking 'bring out the snow blower' amount of snow!  UGH!  I am so done with winter!

So, I decided to use my card as a spring pick- me-up!  I used some Whisteria Wonder and some pretty butterflies to create a little spring feeling.

Here is the card I created.  I like how it turned out.  What do you think?

I started with Whisteria Wonder card base, a layer of Elegant Eggplant, a layer of Whisper White and then a layer of Whisteria Wonder DSP.  I also made a Whisper White tag using the new Scallped Tag Topper Punch - it is an awesome punch to have in your collection!  Imagine the possibilities!

I made a layered butterfly using the Elegant Butterfly punch with Eggplant cardstock and using the Bitty Butterfly punch with some scraps of DSP.  My greeting is from the Perfect Pennants stampset from the Occasions Catalogue.  I finished the tag with some Chevron Ribbon in Whisteria Wonder and some white Baker's Twine.

Thank you for stopping by!

Freshly Made Sketches 128 Retro Fresh Style!

Hi there!

Thanks for stopping by!  I have a card for you today that was inspired by the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches - make sure you stop on over to see all of the great creations that people have come up with!

I decided to use the Retro Fresh DSP for this one.  When I first saw this paper in the Occasions catalogue, I really wasn't sure.  I mean, if you were a 70's and 80's child you were probably happy to see all of the orange and brown combinations go!  But, Stampin'UP! did an awesome job with this paper - they made it upbeat and fun and the colours are fabulous!  Baked Brown Sugar, Tango Tangerine and Very Vanilla - you can't help but love the sounds of them, right?
Ready to see what I came up with?  Here it is....

I used the cardstock and DSP that I mentioned as well as the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stampset and some oval punches for the greeting.  It is hard for me to make a card without ribbon, so I chose to use the new one from the Occasions catalogue, Neutral Chevron Ribbon.

I hope my card helps to inkspire you!

Baby Boy Card

Hi there!  Thanks for stopping by!

One of my friends at work had her frist grandson!  That calls for a card wouldn't you say?  She isn't a new grandma, but this is her first boy!  And the first child for her son!  SO exciting!

So.... I have a confession to make....I had bought the Sweet Buttons Embosslits folder a while ago, like I am talkin' a couple of years, and I still hadn't used it!  EESH!  Anyway, I thought this was the PERFECT opportunity to use these adorable little buttons - embossed and punched all at the same time - beautiful!

I have also been waiting for the opportunity to use the new stampset Cuddles and Kisses from the Annual Catalogue, awesome for the arrival of all new babies!

So here is my card....

I used a favourite colour combo of mine, Crumb Cake, Very Vanillia and Marina Mist - awesome for a boy!  The Designer Series paper is one I have been saving for a long time, but really works for this special occasion!

I hope you find some inspiration from my card - or at least for digging something out that you haven't used yet!  LOL!

Paper Pals Challenge #187 and Pals Paper Arts #195

Hello my stampin' friends!  Thank you for stopping by again!

I found some great inspirational challenges at The Paper Players and Pals Paper Arts.  If you haven't been there already, you should hop on over and take a look at the wonderful creations found there!

I wanted something spring feeling and cheerful for my aunt who is not well right now and these challenges offered just the opportunity!  Here is the card I created....

I started with a Very Vanilla card base, used Wild Wasabi for an extra layer for a border and then So Safron for the top layer.  I used the new matching Pansy Punch and Flower
Shop stampset from the Annual Catalogue.  I love when there is a matching punch and I just love these little flowers!  I arranged them in a bouquet of sorts and added some green leaves from the Bird Builder Punch!  My greeting is from an oldie but a goodie, Sincere Salutations - I LOVE this set!  If you can get your hands on it, buy it!  It covers every kind of occasion.

Here is one last look.  I used the Decorative Label Punch to cut out my greeting and then punched a second one in Rose Red to make a 'border' by cutting it in half and gluing it to the ends - sort of a fooler, if you will.  I love the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder when I want to add a little something, always the perfect touch, I think!  And finally a little ribbon for the flowers.

  Thank you for stopping by!
