Mother's Day with Stained Glass Technique and SUO Challenge 121

Happy Wednesday friends!

I have another Mother's Day card for you and I decided to create it using the challenge happening over at SU Only Challenges #121.  The challenge is to make Mother's Day card or gift - perfect timing wouldn't you say?

I wanted to try something different and I wanted to dive into my unopened pack of Vellum Cardstock.  So I googled around to find some great techniques using vellum and I stumbled across this old site called Stamping 411 - can see their Vellum page here!  They made 3 lovely cards using some different techniques with vellum.  I loved their card so much that I used their colour cue too!

I decided to do a 'lazy stained glass technique' - I don't really know if there is such a thing, so maybe I just created it!  lol

Instead of heat embossing, I decided to use my Staz On Inkpad to on one side of the vellum and then colour with my Stampin' Write Markers on the other.  I really liked the way it turned out, AND I didn't have to colour it perfectly either - another reason this could be called the 'lazy stained glass technique'.

The stampsets I used for this card are the new Petal Potpourri Stampset, the Petite Petals Stampset and the Retired Delightful Dozen Stampset.

The colours I used are Rose Red, Pear Pizzaz and Whisper White.

Thank you for stopping by!

Mother's Day with Case this Sketch!

Hi there!

I have a simple card for you today, but I just loved how it turned out!  I am participating in the CAS(E) this Sketch! challenge #119.  Be sure to stop on over to see all of the great cards that were created!  Here is the inspiration....

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfctO6Tul_m0jgqsubs_mrJCHwzcyrZRlxpmn21I-WPlSbemoKk-7G-lsYPlDIuENmEkH1k88Xv7lxnp3Z3jFnOvGnUTOg76wJWP3CkRWZ7GkL-UdWYrihABiFqIAgV_gMy8pz5PtsDmY/s1600/CTS_Sketch_119.jpg

...so, I bet you can guess the stampset I chose to use?  You guessed it - my fav in the Occasions Catalogue - Sheltering Tree!

I decided to do something for this card that I NEVER do, and that is stamp my main image on coloured cardstock.  Not sure why really, but I just never think of it.

I picked some nice soft colours, Pear Pizzaz, Blushing Bride and Very Vanilla.  I think they look wonderful together.

My greeting stamp is from the retired hostess set called Something to Celebrate.  I polished things off with a tiny pink bow.

Well, thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy the rest of your day.

Mother's Day with The Friday Mashup!

Well hi there,

So glad you stopped by today!  I have a Mother's day Card for you.  I know, I know a bit early, but I don't think you can be too ready for celebrating your mom!

I used the layout sketch challenge over at The Friday Mashup....challenge 205 to be exact.  Check out all of the wonderful cards made with this inspiration here.

When I saw this sketch, the first thing I thought of was flowers, lots and lots of flowers - perfect for moms, don't ya think?

So, I pulled out my three favourite flower punch and matching stampset combos - Mixed Bunch with Blossom Punch, Petite Petals stampset and punch as well as Flower Shop with Pansy Punch.

The Mixed Blossom set has different options for the flower centers, where as the other two don't.  So to make them a bit more matchy-matchy, I coloured the flower center before I stamped them onto Whisper White Cardstock.

I used my Scalloped Edge Border Punch with some more Whisper White, I just love the yellow and white combo!  My 'Mom' stamp is from the retired set called Family Reunion, a great one to hang onto if you have it.

Well, what do you think? I hope my cards has provided you with some Inkspiration!

It's Nice to be Nice!

Hi there,

I just had to share this nice story with you today!  First, I just want to say that I have met the nicest people through my card classes and Stampin'UP!  One of my newest friends, Bonnie Dennis, made some fabulous treats for my boys and I just had to share them (or at least their pictures) with you!  I always tell my boys 'it's nice to be nice' and here's is just one of the reasons why!

Bonnie and I have been sharing ideas and I have lent Bonnie some of my tools to see if she liked them.... and so she had decided to make these for my boys!  Aren't they fabulous?!  She is SO talented!

Sugar cookies decorated perfectly as Ninja Turtles!

One for each of my boys.....

and they were SO happy to eat them!  They were delicious!

Bonnie has her own business called That Added Touch -  www.that-added-touch.com

She creates some beautiful favours and treats for weddings, birthdays and showers.  Please stop by to see her work!

Thank you Bonnie!

Birthday Teeny Tiny Wishes

Happy Sunday!

Glad you could stop by.  I have a birthday card to share with you today.

I wanted to use my new Balloon Framelits Dies....can you believe I haven't used them yet?  I just popped out a balloon from a scrap of DSP - easy!

I used a retired embossing folder for the clouds and I just simply tore the card stock to get some 'grass'.  I used my Teeny Tiny Wishes for my birthday greeting and punched it out using my Word Window Punch and then framed it with my Scalloped Oval Punch and popped it up on Dimensionals.

Some Bakers Twine on the balloon finishes it off!

Here is my card.....

Teeny Tiny Get Well Wishes

Hello my stampin' friends,

I have a quick post for you today for a very simple card!

This card that I have for you was created using an old challenge, but I loved the layout it gave and I wanted to put a cute little spin on it.

I used some fresh colours for this spring like weather we are finally experiencing here!  I used 4 different punches on this card.....Blossom Punch, Petite Petals Punch, Scallop Oval Punch and Large Oval Punch.  My greeting is from Teeny Tiny Wishes - perfect for SO many occasions!

Birthday with The Paper Players Challenge #239

Hi there!

So glad you stopped by today.  I have a birthday card that I made using the great theme challenge over at The Paper Players!  Be sure to stop on over to check out all of the great cards made using this challenge.  You can do that here.

Their challenge was an easy one to partake in...the challenge was to use a die cut!  Done! I just love my Big Shot - the best tool I own!

I wanted something really pretty and so chose to use Blushing Bride cardstock, DSP and Ink.  Perfect for a girl friend's birthday.

I also wanted to use some of that yummy Chalkboard cardstock with the chalk ink from the new Occasions Catalogue - a perfect match for the Blushing Bride.  My Banner framelits are my framelit of choice for the pretty card and to meet challenge.  My greeting comes from the Sassy Salutations stampset, which I thought looked great in the chalk ink!

And, to pretty this up a little bit more, I used the matching Flower Medallion Punch and Petal Potpourri stampset.  I then took my baker's twine and added a sweet little bow to finish it off.
I just love how this turned out!

I hope you like my card and that you found a little 'Inkspiration' along the way!

Easter with Roger's Daytime TV!

Hi there!

Happy Easter to you all!  We have a busy weekend planned with lots of visiting with family and friends and hopefully a visit from the Easter bunny, too!

I had promised to show you some pictures of my Easter show on Daytime, Roger's TV where I made lots of Easter projects perfect for sharing.  The first picture is one of my whole display for the show - it shows all of the things I had made, including the Easter cards I have had in my most recent posts.  Why not bring them along for our TV viewers, right?

The next picture is one of my favourite items I made for display!  I used some of the fabulous Chalkboard paper and Ink to make an Easter display picture frame.  I added an Easter bunny bum made from my Circles and Ovals framelits.  I just loved how it turned out!

My next project is some decorated chocolate Easter pops.  When I saw them in my local bulk food store, I liked their size and thought they would be a perfect treat all decorated up - Stampin'UP! style ;)  I used my Banner Framelits, my For Peeps' Sake stampset and my Stampin' Write Markers to add an Easter message.  Finally, I added some of our beautiful Stampin'UP! ribbon.

The next three pictures are of some treats I made using the inspiration from my creative idol, Erica Cerwin!  Not often can I find the same treats as I see online from the US, and when I found these little Easter Egg Gum packs, I knew I just had to make them!  Be sure to check Erica's out here.

My next little treat holder I made using the 4 x 6 Cello bags in the Annual Catalogue, my Ovals Framelits as well as the new Flower Medallion Punch from the Occasions Catalogue.  The stampset is again, For Peeps' Sake!

And finally, last but not least - the fabulous and new Berry Basket Die from the Occasions Catalogue!  My oh my!  This is definitely one for the collection for sure!  It is the perfect size and the cutest throw back to summer time days from my childhood - picking strawberries to make jam with my mom, brother and sister!  Love, love, love it!  AND if that weren't enough for me to HAVE to have it - it makes a PERFECT Easter basket!

I decorated it using the Flower Medallion and the matching Petal Potpourri Stampset (which you can bundle to save 15%)

Well, I hope you enjoyed my Easter display and treats.

Thank you for stopping in.  Happy Easter to you!
