Kylie Bertucci's International Highlights Top Ten Winner

Hi there, I hope your week of off to a great start.

I have a very special post today!  I am SO honoured to be a part of Kylie Bertucci's International Highlights Top Ten Winner Blog Hop!  (Now that is a mouthful.)  Yes, I was selected as one of the top ten for October's Highlight Challenge! Thank you to everyone who voted for me.

The theme for October's challenge was Change, a life change.  It could be wedding, retirement, new baby ect.  It was a fun challenge and you can see my post for the challenge here where I created a wedding card for my sister.  To celebrate, all of the Challenge winners create a second card using the same theme and participate in a blog hop.  The Highlights Top Ten Blog Hop has the same theme.  Sounds like fun right?

Here is the card I created for the hop with the theme Change in mind.

I created a shower card - could be either a wedding shower or a baby shower and always good to have one in your stash of cards.   I used the new Stampin' Blends to colour the umbrella and the clouds.  This was my first project using the Stampin' Blends and let me tell you, they are so easy to use.  I just love how it turned out!  Helpful hint for the clouds - I used the colour lifter to create the white space in the center, an awesome effect for making clouds.

My card base is Crumb Cake and the layers are made from Pink Pirouette and Pool Party.  The DSP is taken from the Coffee Break pack.  The blue on this DSP is actually Soft Sky, but pattern is so soft, it looks great next to the other colours.

Thank you for stopping by today, be sure to hop on through to all of the blogs participating. I can't wait to see all of the projects created!

Happy Stampin'

 Hey there stampers,

So glad you could join me for the first of the month Blogging Friends blog hop.  If you haven't been to my blog before, welcome to Canada!  So happy you are here!

This month's blog hop is featuring our favourite retiring products! Let me tell you, I have a lot of favourites retiring.  It was SO hard to choose.

I decided to focus on a couple of items that I will be keeping in my stash for quite sometime.  They are Something for Baby Stampset and Baby's First Framelits.

Baby's First Framelits DiesSomething for Baby Clear-Mount Stamp Set

A few week's ago I made a baby card for a lady at work.  We had a little pool going where we could sign up for a date and time and gender of the baby.  I guessed a baby boy with an early delivery.  Wrong and wrong.  A beautiful little girl was born but after expected.  So, I get to make another welcome baby card and this time for a girl!  Here is my card...
I used the onsie framelit on the front of the card....
and the stampset on the inside.  I also used the Stitched Thinlits to decorate the front of the card and my greeting is from my favourite, Teeny Tiny Wishes. The verse on the inside of this card is currently reitred and called Cuddles and Kisses.  Another great one to keep in a collection.

Be sure to stop in and see all of the creations made using upcoming retiring products by clicking on each of the names in the list below or simply click on the picture below.

Remember if there is a retiring product you would like, don't wait, some items are already sold out.

Stampin Celebration Challenge

Hey stampers,

It's time for another challenge over at Stampin' Celebration Challenge....and it's sketch time!  I LOVE a good sketch and we have a good one for ya today!

Awesome, right?  So I was thinking about what type of card to make.  And realized I don't have any cards in my stash for a new baby!  I found a patterned paper that was speaking to me and decided on some complementing colours to create the rest of my card.

I used the Something for Baby stampset and coordinating Baby's First Framelits to create the images for my card.  I popped each one up using dimensionals to add to the layering effect.  My greeting is from the stampset Balloon Celebration I stamped it directly on my DSP ...I am really like how that looks.  Finally, I added a tiny bit of Whisper White Baker's Twine.

Now, hop right on back to Stampin' Celebration Challenge - we are looking for some guest designers - our next one could be you!

Hope you will join us!

Baby Card

Hello there my Stampin' friends,

I have a card to show you that I made some time ago for my cousin who had a beautiful baby girl!  They had a 'welcome' party for her and I wanted to make her a very special card!

I knew I wanted it very pink and with lots of layers - I wanted this card as 'girly' as possible!  I used my Colour Coach to help with the colour combination and tones to choose - the Colour Coach takes the guess work out!  A tool I couldn't live without!

I used my DSP stacks for getting some great patterned paper in the colours I picked.  I used 2 retired stampsets that are perfect for a new baby!  Baby Prints and Cuddles and Kisses!

I layered it up with the pink and green cardstock and used my Ticket Corner Punch and Scallped Edge Border Punch and my favourite Decorative Label Punch for my greeting.

Here is my card!

I hope that it inspires you!
