By The Dock Birthday!

Hey there,

I hope you had a good long weekend!  I know I did.  A great weekend of refreshing and rejuvenating.  Some serious relaxing - exactly what I needed.

It certainly is starting to feel like fall where I am, cool nights and warmish days.  I am ready.  So this is the prefect time to use some super special summer theme products.  I decided to join the fun over at The Paper Players where they have a masculine birthday theme.

I decided to use my Dockside Dies and coordinating By the Dock stampset to create my birthday card.  I also used the Birch Background stamp.

The colours I have used are Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Mossy Meadow and Balmy Blue.

To create the focal point of the card, I framed all of the stamped and die cut images with the Nested Labels Dies.

Be sure to stop on over to The Paper Players and see of the masculine inspired birthday cards.

Happy Stampin'

By the Dock

Hey there!

Are you ready for a couple of Sun Fun inspired cards?  How about two using the same products but just a little different and for different occasions?

I have tapped into the Global Design Projects challenge this week to share with you two cards that I made using By the Dock stampset and coordinating Dockside Dies.

Here are my two cards.  One is an easel style card.  Both use the same colours Night of Navy card base, Whisper White as a border and Balmy Blue for the scene background.

I stamped all images in Whisper White and coloured them in with my Stampin' Blends!  My favourite colouring tool!  I used Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and Old Olive.  To this one, I added many cut out paddles on the card base to give it some dimension.  The greeting is from By the Dock Stampset and then I fussy cut around the edges.

This one is a landscape layout using the same products, I just used two of the shore line stamp to make it go all the way along.

My greeting is from Word Wishes Dies - I just love these.  If you are a scrapbooker these are a must in your collection.

This is my husband's father's day card, he is the hero to all three of our boys.  The inside is from A Wish for Everything.

This maybe the closest we get to the lake this year with COVID, but we are making the best of it.

Happy Father's Day with TGIF!

Hello everyone,

Are you ready for father's day?  We will be celebrating from a distance this year with COVID restrictions still in place  But what better way to do that, than to send a card!

I am a very luck person who get's to celebrate many dad's, I have two of my own, my husband and my father-in-law!  Lots of cards to create - I love it.

So, I have pulled out some old favourites to create them.  Here is the first one to share with you.

Over at TGIF Challenges, they have a neat challenge this week and that is to trim down the front panel to reveal the inside.  Awesome reminder - this is a fun way to mix it up a little.

Here is the card I made.

My dad who lives down east, in New Brunswick to be exact, is all too familiar with moose.  They have so many there!  So I wanted to use the stampset from years ago called Walk in the Wild.

This big guy was stamped in Memento Ink and coloured using my Stampin' Blends.  Soft Suede and Crumb Cake for his antlers.

Here is a view from the top.  A simple fun fold card where you fold the front of the card back onto itself.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope this has inspired you to pull out some of your old favourites too.

June Blog Hop

 Hey there my stampin' friends,

Happy June!  June is a very busy month in the Gill house.  All three of my boys have their birthdays in June!  It will be a fun packed month for us!

With the start of a new month comes a blog hop with my Blogging Friends.  And this hop is perfect for my month ahead....masculine!  With Father's day coming up and all three of my boys birthday, this is the perfect way to get some masculine inspiration.

Here is the card I created for you today.
I love this colour combination and couldn't resist making a argyle pattern with this geometrical punch, Tailored Tag.  Love how this layer turned out.  To create it, I cut a piece of 5 by 3 3/4 Whisper White cardstock and layered all of the punched coloured cardstock, on top of it.  I started my layers at the top with 2 of colours and had them join in the center of the layer and then continued to layered from there.  I left some hanging over the edges until I was finished and the turned it over and trimmed them up after.
Once that layer was complete, I added it on top of a Whisper White, wrapped my ribbon around the two layers and then added them to the top of a Night of Navy card base.
The focal point is a scalloped circle in Night of Navy, then a Circle in Lemon Lime Twist, both cut with the Layering Circle Thinlits.
I stamped the image in Lemon Line Twist and Night of Navy.  I used my paper snips to cut out those adorable little glasses.  I punched the Navy also using the Tailored Tag Punch. I added the glasses with a part of a dimensional.

Thank you for stopping by.  Be sure to hop on through to see of the masculine inspiration that my Blogging Friends have to share.

Happy Stampin'
