Blogging Friends Blog Hop October

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitn2_Kk4lh2JfpKNnHAuFzp8DPbEXByoMLzWqmzJJL2hOVUL5fLgn7EtJo00ssogNHba6i-rg8-xVTmb7_Cfjayjd-Ki3ckfSTXpIks-069yZgLKl-p5aBqfdQ9GQ7mSeu00fXYj3zGm-z/s1600/Blogging+Friends+Icon.jpg

Hello friends,

So glad you stopped by today.  It's the first of the month and so it's time for another Blog Hop with my Blogging Friends!

Our theme this month is fall!  I love this time of year.  The leaves are starting to change and the nights are cooler but still nice in the daytime.

With fall in mind, I decided to share with you some Halloween treats I made for a craft show I am attending this weekend.  It is a part of an award winning festival called Small Halls Festival - if you are ever in southern Ontario the first weekend in October, you MUST check it out!

Here are a couple of the treats I will be selling at the sale..

I used some new products from the Holiday catalogue as well as some old favourites.  The Cookie Cutter Punch and coordinating stampset is quickly becoming one of my new go to set for fall.  I just love all of the little characters that can be made with this set and the Christmas matching set as well!  My hold steady favourites here are Teeny Tiny Whishes and Georgous Grunge.

Here is another version using ghost chocolates and the skeleton!  I added a tiny little orange heart using the Cookie Cutter punch.

When I saw these gummy fang treats I knew exactly what I was going to use to pretty them up.  I coloured my Dracula using blender pens and my inkpads.

Now you much hop on through the stops.  Next up is Rick - he always has a fabulous project for us.  See you next time.

Blogging Friends Blog Hop - Summer time!

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitn2_Kk4lh2JfpKNnHAuFzp8DPbEXByoMLzWqmzJJL2hOVUL5fLgn7EtJo00ssogNHba6i-rg8-xVTmb7_Cfjayjd-Ki3ckfSTXpIks-069yZgLKl-p5aBqfdQ9GQ7mSeu00fXYj3zGm-z/s1600/Blogging+Friends+Icon.jpg

Hey there stampers,

Know what today is?  It's time for another blog hop with my blogging friends!  On the first of every month, we do a hop through our blogs and share some wonderful projects with you.  Simply work your way through the list of bloggers at the end of everyone's post or click on the picture labeled 'continue on Blog Hop' also near the end of everyone's post.  I am looking forward to seeing the projects everyone made!

This month's theme is Summer time.  For me, being July 1st and all, the perfect summer time theme is to celebrate is Canada's birthday!  So, if you are Canadian, happy Canada Day!  If you are hopping over from another country, please allow me to indulge in a little patriotic birthday celebration.....Canada is 149 today! :)

To celebrate, I made a happy Canada day card. For those of you not celebrating Canada's birthday, the techniques I used can be added to any card or scrapbook page.  Here is my card...

Of course, I used our traditional Canadian colours of Real Red and Whisper White and added some Crumb Cake and Black wording to emphasize them.
So, I started with a Crumb Cake card base and then added a layer of Real Red, then Whisper White embossed with the Brick Wall Embossing folder - I just LOVE this folder!  I added some Crumb Cake splatter using the Gorgeous Grunge Stampset for a bit of a graffiti look.
I used the Leaflets Framelits to make my red maple leaf, the word 'happy' is from the Hello You Thinlits and the word day is stamped right onto the embossed cardstock.  It is the second half of 'birthday' that I coloured using the stampin' write marker instead of stamping it onto the inkpad.

This was a really fun card to make.  Thanks for stopping by.
Now hop on over to Rick's blog to see what he has created for us!

Stampin Celebration Challenge Returns!

Hello there,

So glad you stopped by today!  Do you know what today is?  It's the day Stampin' Celebration Challenge starts up again after a very short hiatus!  And, we are so excited to bring you this fresh, awesome picture sketch for you to play along with!
What did you notice first?  My eyes were immediately drawn to the bright coloured stripes and the fun citrus images.  The next thing I saw was the white lettering on the black background.  I immediately thought fun chalkboard technique!

Here is the card I designed with these picture in mind....

I just LOVE how this turned out!  And I made it in about 10 minutes flat - a record for me!

I found some yellow stripped DSP in my stash and paired it with a Tangerine Tango cardbase.  My greeting is from the stampset Watercolour Words.  I stamped it using Whisper White craft ink on a a scrap of Basic Black cardstock.  I added some speckles using the Georgous Grunge stampset.

Finally, I stamped the flower from Crazy About You - it was the closest stamp I had to a citrus fruit stamp, but I think it works - in Tangerine Tango on Whisper White Cardstock, cut out and popped up on dimensionals.  The flower center is a 1" circle punch out of Daffodil Delight Cardstock to match the stripes in the DSP.

I hope you like my card.  Please be sure to stop on over to the Stampin' Celebration Challenge blog and see what everyone has created using this picture inspiration.

Your turn!  I can't wait to see what you create using our challenge! Remember you have 2 weeks to participate.

Stampin Celebration Inspiration Guest Designer take 3!

Welcome to the Stampin' Celebration Challenge card share!

I still need to keep pinching myself that I was chosen to be a guest designer!  I am so honoured to be a part of such a great group of ladies.

The challenge this week is AWESOME.  I love the feeling that these inspiration pictures give to me - relaxed and summer best describe these photos. I just love this time of year!

Here is the card I made with this inspiration....

I decided to dust off a couple of favourite retired stampsets of mine...Perfectly Preserved and By the Sea Shore - perfect for capturing those awesome inspiration images.

I was going for a 'message in a bottle' sort of card and I thought the images were a perfect way to send a Happy Retirement message.  I used my Teeny Tiny Messages stampset for the sentiment and cut it out using my Bitty Banners Framelits
Some other tools and stampsets I used were...Cannery Framelits, Bitty Banners Framelits, Gorgeous Grunge stampset and World Map stampset.

The colours I chose were Lost Lagoon, Sahara Sand and Very Vanillia.  I also used some Vellum cardstock for my mason jar.  I stamped the image in Lost Lagoon onto the Vellum then waited until my ink dried before I ran it through the Big Shot with the Cannery Framelits.  I cut a second jar using Lost Lagoon cardstock to place behind the Vellum.  I finished things off with some of the new Thick Baker's twine at my sentiment.

Thank you for stopping by!  Be sure to join us at Stampin' Celebration.  We can't wait to see your creations!

Grungin' it up with Stampin' Celebration

Hey there stamper's

It's time for another challenge over at Stampin' Celebration - and you are going to just LOVE this sketch!

When I first saw this sketch - I thought Gorgeous Grunge!  Those lines are perfect.  I also thought this would be a great celebration card, ironically enough. lol  Recently, a couple of my nephews graduated from high school and this would be a great layout for their cards.

The colours I used are Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry and Whisper White.  The patterned paper is from the new Cherry on Top DSP paper stack.  I used 2 stampsets for this card....Gorgeous Grunge and Celebrate Today.  I made the stars using the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack and the Star Framelits - which by the way are at a discount price until Monday July 27th!

Be sure to join us over at Stampin' Celebration - we can't wait to see what you create!

A Sassy Thank you!

Good morning my Stampin' friends,

I hope you are having a great weekend so far.  I thought I would share one of the cards we made at my last card class....a Sassy Thank you!

I used two of my favourites stampsets from the Annual Catalogue - Sassy Salutations and Gorgeous Grunge!  They are SO versatile!

The Sassy Salutations are a great size for the front of a card or even a scrapbook page!  And the Gorgeous Grunge is perfect for subtly filling in those blank spaces you may not want!  Used to make mud marks on a page or card, blood spaltters at Halloween time, water marks for a great nautical theme.....the possibilities are endless!

Here is the card I made....

My colour combo is Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake and Whisper White.  I used my Circles Framelits and my Circle punches to make the Whisper White and Crumb Cake Circles.

The DSP is from the retired fall pack from the most recent Holiday catalogue.  I polished it off with some Whisper White Ribbon and coloured Rhinestones.

Happy Birthday with Freshly Made Sketches

Hello to my Stampin' Friends.

Thank you for joining me today.  I have a birthday card that is very fast to make and I used Freshly Made Sketches challenge #158 to help inspire me!

I just love participating in these challenges - they really help with that creative block and keep you from getting into a rut with layouts!  I hope that you will stop by to see all of the wonderful creations that were made with this challenge...and if you have joined me via their website - thank you!

I used some great fall colours and the fabulous patterned paper - DSP - found in the Holiday Catalogue, Colour Me Autumn!  Although, I have a bit of a confession...I didn't even notice this pattern in the pack - but I just love it!

I used the stampsets Sassy Salutations and Gorgeous Grunge.

Here is a picture of my card...

The colours I used were taken directly from the patterned paper....Very Vanilla, Soft Suede, Cajun Craze and the 'spatter dots' were done in Crumb Cake.  I couldn't resist using a little twine to finish it off.

Thanksgiving with a Gorgeous Grung Scrapbook Page!

Hi there my Stampin' friends!

Today is Thanksgiving here in Canada!  My family spends the long weekend camping along with two other families.  We have a full traditional meal with all the fixings in the great out doors!  Camping with the leaves in their beautiful fall colours is awesome...and no bugs!

Have you seen the new Gorgeous Grunge stamp set from the Annual Catalogue?  Woowzers!  Gorgeous is right!  It has to be my new favourite stamp set!  If you haven't noticed it - check out on page 109 of the catalogue.

It is SO versatile - perfect for some added touches to a card or scrapbook page.

I decided to try it out on a scrapbook page using a picture of two people I am VERY thankful for - my two youngest boys!  I just LOVE this picture of them together - it shows how thankful they are for each other as well!

Here is my page....

There are SO many things going on with this page!  I started with Epic Day This and That Designer Series Paper and used my Gorgeous Grunge splotches in different colours.

I used the Six-Sided Sampler Bundle to create the honey comb shapes on the left side of the picture - you save %15 when you buy the Stampset and matching punch!

I also used super fun ABC - 123 Sketch Alphabet and Numbers Stampset to create the word LOVE!  It is awesome for scrapbook pages!

And let's not forget the Washi tape!  Have you tried this yet?  I can't believe how easy it is to use!

Here is the full list of supplies I used...

Epic Day This and That DSP
Crumb Cake Cardstock
Six-Sided Sampler Bundle (Stampset and matching punch)
Gorgeous Grunge Stampset
ABC - 123 Alphabet and Numbers Stampset
Pool Party Inkpad
