Sieze the Birthday!

Hello there,

I decided to join the fun over at Sieze the Birthday where their theme this week is 'The Great Divide'!  How fun is that? And who can't use more birthday cards in their stash, right?

So, here is the card that I came up with....

I am SO looking forward to spring.  Technically it IS spring here, but we are expecting another big snow storm this week!  UGH!

Anyway, if I create cards with flowers, maybe they will come.  :)

I used one of my favourite stampsets, Garden in Bloom.  It is just so pretty with the water coloured look of the stamps and you can create them in ANY colour and any combination!  My greeting is from Teeny Tiny Wishes, another favourite of mine.

The patterned paper is from the DSP stack Pretty Petals and the colours are Very Vanillia, Calypsol Coral and Pear Pizzaz, all taken from the DSP.

Thanks for stopping by.  Be sure to stop by again tomorrow, where I will have all of the projects I made for my latest appearance on Roger's TV.

Happy Birthday with Retro Sketches

Hey there stampin' friends,

So glad you have stopped by today - I have a really fun card to share with you!  I received this sketch challenge in my e-mail from Retro Sketches and just had to create a card with it!

Fun sketch isn't it?
 Here is my card...

I wanted to use some fun colours so I took my cue from the DSP stack Pretty Petals.  I picked 2 patterns that had similar colours and alternated them for the back strips of paper.  My card base is Mint Macaroon.

The leaf image is from Crazy About You and the butterfly is from Papillon Potpourri.  I stamped in Calypso Coral onto Calypso Coral cardstock.  My greeting is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Be sure to stop on by Retro Sketches to see all of the wonderful cards created using this sketch!

Stampin Celebration Challenge

Hey there stampers...

It's Stampin' Celebration Challenge time!  Did you join us last time for our picture inspiration?  This week we have a really great sketch to play along with.  I LOVE sketch challenges.

Here is the sketch...

What is the first stampset that comes to mind for you?  There are so many options!  I first thought of balloons and birthdays.  You can never have enough birthday cards!  So with that in mind, here is the card I created using this sketch....

I wanted to create something birthday and I thought right away of my little paper stack that I have been neglecting lately.....Cherry on Top!  I love the bright, bold colours in this stack - perfect for a birthday card!

My card base is Crushed Curry, with a layer of Whisper White, then Bermuda Bay which I embossed with my Decorative Dots Embossing folder.  The layer of DSP running width way across the center of my card, is topped with some Vellum Cardstock that I stamped my greeting directly on.  (Be sure to leave some extra drying time when stamping directly on Vellum.)  My balloon and greeting are stamped with Watermelon Wonder.

Finally, I added some Crushed Curry Bakers twine to my balloon and popped my balloon up using dimensionals.

Be sure to see all of the wonderful creations the design team at Stampin' Celebration Challenge has made using this sketch.  AND be sure to play along - there are 2 whole weeks to join the fun!

Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Teeny Tiny Wishes

Happy Sunday!

Glad you could stop by.  I have a birthday card to share with you today.

I wanted to use my new Balloon Framelits Dies....can you believe I haven't used them yet?  I just popped out a balloon from a scrap of DSP - easy!

I used a retired embossing folder for the clouds and I just simply tore the card stock to get some 'grass'.  I used my Teeny Tiny Wishes for my birthday greeting and punched it out using my Word Window Punch and then framed it with my Scalloped Oval Punch and popped it up on Dimensionals.

Some Bakers Twine on the balloon finishes it off!

Here is my card.....

Kids Birthday

Hello friends,

Glad you stopped by today.  I have a kid inspired card for you!  I can't seem to have enough of these in my stash - these and cards for the men in my life!

For this card I used some paper from the retired Halloween DSP pack - the colours are a perfect match for a kids birthday - I just LOVE when things can be used for more than one purpose!  You have to make the most of you supplies, right?

The stampset I used is the retired Bring on the Cake.  I coloured the letters using the matching colours of Stampin' Write markers - so you could tailor it to ANY DSP.

I added two banners and some two toned trim!

I hope you like my card!

Retro Brithday Card

Hello my Stampin' friends,

I have a quick post for you today with a simple and quick birthday card.  This card  would be perfect for a male or female card for the young and the not so young alike.

I took my colour cue from the Retro Fresh Designer Series paper.  I used a Very Vanilla card base and layered it up with Baked Brown Sugar and the Retro Fresh paper.  I added some of that great ruffled stretch ribbon.  I used the matching punch and stamp set Label of Love (save 15% when you buy them both together).  I also punched an extra Artisan Label in baked brown sugar and cut it in half to make a 'fooler' border!  Just what was needed to emphasize the sentiment!

I added two banners one in Tango Tangerine and one in Bermuda Bay.

Western Theme Birthday

Hi there!

I have a birthday card to show you today.  I used one of my favourite birthday sets....Bring On The Cake!  It is a really awesome birthday set because it covers options for both the inside and out!

This Wish Big Stamp with the hand reminded me of a western feel, so I used Crumb Cake Cardstock for my card base.  I added a layer of  Early Espresso and then I tied is all together with some DSP I had left over from the DSP Stack that was in the Holiday catalogue.

I used my all time FAVOURITE ribbon...the Chevron ribbon in Early Espresso!  Ymmo!  For a little added extra, I punched a small yellow star with my punch from the Merry Mini punches set and popped it up with a dimensional!

Ready to see my card?  Here it is...

Let me know what you think!

Seasonal Sayings

Hi there!

I have a very happy card to share with you today!  I just LOVE the way this one turned out - don't you just love it when the ideas in your head play out on paper exactly as you pictured them?  Well, that is exactly what happed with this card!

I love the bright colors of this card.  I took my color cue from the Designer Series Paper, that made choosing the colors easy!  I used my markers to color the stamp instead of an ink pad.  It is an easy way to get different colors on the letters and create more interest in your greeting.  But let's not forget the chevron embossing on the Marina Mist Cardstock, my favorite part of this card!  Yummo!

And the card is.....

The Seasonal Seasons stamp set is PERFECT for this time of year!  You get a stamp for all of the upcoming holidays - Thanksgiving, Halloween, Christmas, Valentines and the one featured here, and it can be used for anything!  It can be found on page 32 of the annual catalogue.
