Stampin' Celebration Challenge

Happy Monday!

Did you survive Halloween?  My guys had a great time with their trick or treating.  Lots of candy and lots of sugary energy in this house!

I am very happy to say it's time for another Stampin' Celebration Challenge and this week we have some picture inspiration for you!  Are you a fan of yellow, grey and white?  If so, this is your week!  These pictures are so much fun!

Polka dots, stripes, flowers, birds and scalloped edges.  So many great themes to focus on, I had a hard time choosing.  So I decided to make two cards - my first card is my favourite, but both were created using the inspiration pictures.

So I decided to try the Joyful Season stamp for a card other than Christmas.  I thought the cardinal could maybe turned into a cockatial if I stamped him in yellow - well, OK I guess he can be a yellow cardinal, but I think he is pretty cute anyway.  I popped him up with some layered circles using my Circle Framelits and dimensionals.

Did you notice the little diamond pattern in the birds in inspiration picture?  I had to really zoom in - well that's what brought me to my pattern behind the our little yellow friend.  My greeting is from the stampset Remembering Your Birthday.  I really like the font and the size.

For my second card, I used some oldies but goodies!  I started with a Smokey Slate card base again, but added a layer of Daffodil Delight, then a layer of grey and white striped DSP.

I put a strip of Daffodil Delight edged with my Scallop Punch.  I created some flowers out of yellow and white polka dot DSP using my Pansy and Blossom Punches then layered them on top of each other and then added a bow.  I used my Bird Builder Punch to create a grey and white little bird and placed him right on top of the bow.  I LOVED how that looked in the inspiration picture

Last but not least, I added some grey leaves to my flowers.  I purposefully left the card without a greeting - because I thought it can be used for anything.

I sure hope you join us at Stampin' Celebration Challenge!  We can't wait to see what you create!

Remember, inky fingers are the happiest fingers.

Tag You're It!

Hey there!

Glad you stopped by today!  I have a card I made using the Tag You're It! challenge.  Have you been to their blog?  I just LOVE all of the wonderful tags that are created there each week!  Be sure to check them out!  You can find them here.

I LOVED this challenge because it featured flowers - and I am SO ready for spring!  Today is a really great step in that direction.  Here in Ontario, we are seeing temperatures above the freezing mark - yahoo!

Here is a picture of the design challenge.  Beautiful isn't it?  I love the way the leaves extend past the paper.

Here is my card I made with this design in mind.  I had my flower and leaves extend beyond the edge of the tag a bit to try to get the dimension of the challenge tag.  I took my colour inspiration from the patterned or Designer Series paper.  The flower that I chose from Flower Shop Stampset, I chose because of the lines - they looked just like 'scribbled' flowers and I thought the flowers in the challenge card used the same sort of 'scribbled' look.

I hope you enjoyed my card with a tag for today.

Snowman Fun with Box Punch Board!

Hello my Stampin' friends!

Well, it is still snowing here in Ontario!  When will it every stop!  So with that in mind, I thought I would give you a close up of a snowman I made using the Box Punch Board!  I think he is SO cute!

I first saw him on Pinterest - I just love the ideas you can find on there!  I first made him for my display for the Roger's Daytime TV Christmas show and then I used him again for our Local Winterama Craft sale I participated in in February.

I used the Box Punch Board to create the three different box sized to make Snowman, then used the wing from my Bird Builder Punch and the eyes and buttons were made using the Owl Builder PunchHis mouth was just hand drawn using my black Stampin' Write Marker.  He was a big hit with the camera guys at Roger's who asked to take a picture of him.  lol

Although I love this little guy, I am SO ready for the snow to stop!

Mother's Day Scalloped Tag Topper Punch Card!

Hello there!

I have a mother's day card to show you today that I have entered into the Stampin' Royalty Challenge #227 - May Flowers!  If you haven't arrived here from there, make sure you stop by, the inspiration is gorgeous as usual!

My card features another retiring Stamp set - Delightful Dozen!  I can't believe this one is retiring!  It has to be one of my 'go to' stamp sets.  It has, yep you guessed it, a dozen occasions that can be used for...mother's day, father's day, birthday, Easter, Valentines.....

I also decided to try this Scallped Tag Punch card I have been seeing all over the internet!  It was really fun to try! It is a total layout case from Tanya Bell. You can see her video tutorial here.  Super talented to have thought of this!  Another awesome reason to have this punch in your collection!

Go ahead and give this layout a try!  It makes such a pretty card!

Paper Pals Challenge #187 and Pals Paper Arts #195

Hello my stampin' friends!  Thank you for stopping by again!

I found some great inspirational challenges at The Paper Players and Pals Paper Arts.  If you haven't been there already, you should hop on over and take a look at the wonderful creations found there!

I wanted something spring feeling and cheerful for my aunt who is not well right now and these challenges offered just the opportunity!  Here is the card I created....

I started with a Very Vanilla card base, used Wild Wasabi for an extra layer for a border and then So Safron for the top layer.  I used the new matching Pansy Punch and Flower
Shop stampset from the Annual Catalogue.  I love when there is a matching punch and I just love these little flowers!  I arranged them in a bouquet of sorts and added some green leaves from the Bird Builder Punch!  My greeting is from an oldie but a goodie, Sincere Salutations - I LOVE this set!  If you can get your hands on it, buy it!  It covers every kind of occasion.

Here is one last look.  I used the Decorative Label Punch to cut out my greeting and then punched a second one in Rose Red to make a 'border' by cutting it in half and gluing it to the ends - sort of a fooler, if you will.  I love the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder when I want to add a little something, always the perfect touch, I think!  And finally a little ribbon for the flowers.

  Thank you for stopping by!

Stampin' Royalty Challenge #196

Hello there!  Really glad you stopped by!

Have you been over to Stampin' Royalty lately?  They have a BEAUTIFUL, festive fall picture for inspiration this week!  It is totally up my alley - I would feel very at home if I lived in that picture!

So I did my best to try to re-create this classy, traditional and festive feel.  To do this, I chose to use my all-time favourite paper!  I have waited an entire year to use this paper (yes it is retired) - do you ever have that?  You love a paper so much you don't want to use it?  Please tell me that I am not the only one who is addicted to paper!  So I kept my card simple to get full view of it!

Here is my card.  Let me know what you think!

I hope you can see the picture ok - my camera has decided not to show up for work today!

I used one of the pieces from the Designer Series Paper of last year's Halloween pack - it just screams classy, doesn't it?

I added a little pumpkin punch art - I just love making these!  They are perfect whether you use a circle or oval punch.  I used the bird builder punch for the leaves.  They are awesome on a scrapbook page too!

Here is the list of supplies I used........

Pumpkin Pie Cardstock
Basic Black Cardstock
Very Vanilla Cardstock
Basic Black Inkpad
1" Circle Punch
Bird Builder Punch
1" Square Punch (for the banner end for the saying)
Howlstooth & Scaringbone Designer Series Paper (regrettably retired)
1/8" Taffeta Ribbon - Pumpkin Pie
