Hey, Chick!

LOL, I just can't help but smile when I say or hear that and Stampi'UP! has a great stamp set that goes right along with it.  They have some coordinating products too.  There are 2 bundles that I want to feature in today's card share.

These are the perfect bundles to use for Stampin'UP! Only Challenges this week.  Their challenge is 

                SUOC 274: Animal Kingdom

Chickens are a part of the animal kingdom, right?

Anyway, here is my card - well two cards with my favourite animal stampsets!

I just loved colouring these comical adorable chickens!  They really make me want to smile.

I used my light Smokey Slate Stampin' Blend to outline each chicken.  It's not something you notice right away, but it really helps the chickens jump of the cardstock - almost like an animiation. 

I did a second card, playing more with colours and different combinations.

I die cut the the super cute sign and stamped the sentiment. I had some tiny hearts on my desk and so added them to fill in some space.  I tied a bow on the sign to finish it off!

Blogging Friends Easter Blog Hop

 Hey there,

Glad you could stop by today! It's time for the Blogging Friends Blog Hop.  This month's theme is Easter.   Have you noticed, Easter is only 1 month away.  It is going to sneak up on us, so this theme is perfect to help us prepare.

I really wanted to use the Hey Chick bundle and Hey Birthday Chick bundle.  Here is the card I created.

I had a rainbow of Easter eggs dancing in my head.  LOL so how about hatching rainbow Easter eggs.  I couldn't resist.

I started with a Basic White layer and used my blending brushes to add some Granny Apple Green and Balmy Blue.

I cut out the chicken coop in Crumb Cake and Basic White.  I then cut the white trim and glued it directly on top of the Crumb Cake. 

The fun little Easter eggs and the fun little chick were colour using my Stampin' Blends - Highland Heather, Balmy Blue, Granny Apple Green, Flirty Flamingo and Calypso Coral.

The greeting was created using the Word Wishes Dies.  Perfect for every occasion!

March Blogging Friends Blog Hop!

Hey there stampers,

Can you believe it is March already?  According to our little season predictors (here in Ontario, we have Wiarton Willie) spring is almost here!  I am very done with winter, so I really hope he is right.

A new month also means a new blog hop with my blogging friends!  I love our hops!  This months hop is featuring Sale-a-bration items.  I created two cards for the hop using my top 2 favourite stamp sets in the Sale-a-bration catalogue.  Can you guess which two they are?.......

Yep.  The first is the Hey Chick stampset.  I mean common - living in farm country or not this one is super cute!  All of these images are 'da bomb' as my kids would say, but what really caught my attention was the 'hey, chick!' sentiment lol.  Makes me giggle every time.

I kept my card simple, focusing on the image, the greeting and the colouring of the chick  as the main focus. I used our new stampin'up! coloured pencils and blended the colours using my Aqua painter.

My second card features my other favourite stampset.  It is the fun lovin' ice cream/ taco/hot dog truck.  The possibilities are endless with this set!  I went with some bright, bold and fun colours.  Again, I coloured the image with the stampin'up! pencils and Aqua painter.
