International Blog Highlight

Well hello there,
So happy you stopped by today!  It is a very special day.  I decided to join other Stampin'UP! demonstrators to participate in Kylie Bertucci's International Stampin'UP! Blog Highlights.
What is a blog highlight you ask?  This is where Stampin'UP Demonstrators showcase projects and YOU get to vote on your favourites. The top ten winners will get to be part of an international blog hop so please vote for my project. You can do that here - October Highlights - VOTE FOR ME

Our theme for this highlight is
Change of Life Circumstances.
Retiring, new baby, new home, New job, leaving a job, Wedding.... any change in life event.
I am choosing to showcase a very special wedding card I created for my sister.  We (all but my oldest son) travelled to New Brunswick to see her get married last month and I have yet to share the card I made.  I thought this was the perfect opportunity to share it.  I just love the way it turned out.  Here is my card...
I kept the colours very simple - Whisper White cardstock and Basic Grey Ink.  I started with a Whipser White cardbase and then cut a layer 4 x 5 1/4.  I cut a circle out for the greeting to show through.  I wanted lots of texture, so then I dry embossed using the Softly Falling Embossing folder.
Before I added the layer to the card base, I placed the layer on top of the cardbase and then stamped my greeting through the cut out .  then, I die cut both flower flourishes from the Florish Thinlits to help frame the greeting.  I added some basic pearls to parts of the flourish and a Basic Grey bow to the stem of the flourish.  I popped this layer up using dimensionals.

Finally, if I may, share a picture of my beautiful sister on her wedding day with my 2 younger boys.  I just LOVE this picture!  They look so handsome all dressed up.

I hope you enjoyed my card and decide to come back and visit.  If you live in Canada you can shop with me, I would love to help!
Thanks for visiting my blog today make sure you head over to Kylie's blog - HERE to vote for my project. I would love to be chosen to do an international blog hop.

Valenties Day with Roger's TV Daytime!

Hi my Stampin' friends,

I am so excited to share with you the pictures of my Valentines projects and the display I had for my most recent visit to see my friends at Roger's TV show Daytime!  I just LOVE my time there and creating projects for their viewers and we even get to create some projects live on air!

Here are the pictures I took that day...The first are some of my whole display.

This next picture is of some home decor I created using my Sweet and Sassy Framelits.  Did you know that you get 15 different thinlits in that Sweet and Sassy framelits pack?  Awesome value!  I used an old shadow box and I created 4 different sized hearts using the more curvy heart in the package and cut them out of different patterned paper from the Sending Love DSP Stack.   I think this was my favourite project from this show.

Next is another home decor item I made.   This time with a regular picture frame and my Large Letters Framelits.  I used some Real Red Glitter paper to create the 'Xs and Os" as well as the tiny heart in the corner - so cute!

This picture includes some little valentines treats that I made.  Treat bags for my kids bus driver and a truffle heart with a decorated belly band.  There is also another Valentines Card in the corner.
I also made a couple of different Window Boxes.  This is the one we made live on air!  I just love those little kissy lips.
Here is another one I made for display - more hugs and kisses!

A close up of one of the cards with the other two photo bombing!  lol
Here is a close up of the truffle hearts with belly bands.  Each one was a little bit different.  I love just playing around.
And last but not least a close up of the tags for the treat bags. I gave out some to the folks at Daytime for all of their hard work another is earmarked for my garbage man who help coral my dog when he got loose last week  - ugh, but that is another story!

However you like to spend Valentines Day, I hope you enjoy it.

Happy Stampin'

Blogging Friends Blog Hop with Love

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitn2_Kk4lh2JfpKNnHAuFzp8DPbEXByoMLzWqmzJJL2hOVUL5fLgn7EtJo00ssogNHba6i-rg8-xVTmb7_Cfjayjd-Ki3ckfSTXpIks-069yZgLKl-p5aBqfdQ9GQ7mSeu00fXYj3zGm-z/s1600/Blogging+Friends+Icon.jpg

Hey there stampers,

It's the first of the month and you know what that means.....blog hop time with my blogging friends!  This month the theme is Love!  Fitting right before Valentine's Day.  I just love making some cute treats for my friends, co-workers and the teachers in our lives.  In fact, I have been known to just pass out treats to people I see often in my everyday life.  Like at my favourite convenience store, or someone that just looks like they could use a pick-me-up!  It just feels good to put a smile on someone's face, don't ya' think?

So with that in mind, I have 2 sweet little Valentine's projects to share with you today for our Blog Hop.  I created a fun card as well as a super sweet little box to hold some Valentine's treats.

I am using some new goodies from the Occasions catalogue as well as a new to me thinlits set! (I just love getting new things to play with.)  Below is the Valentine's treat box made with the new Window Box Thinlits.  The box is made using Pink Pirouette lined with Real Red to show off that intricate detail I put onto the top of the box.  Those details are made with a die that comes with with set and you can use it or not - I just love when you get options like that.  The tag was made with a thinlit that comes with the Window Box Thinlits Dies as well.  And finally the greeting on the tag is from the coordinating stampset called Window Shopping.
The card I made is so simple, but oh so cute!  I used the same colours, Whispher White, Real Red and Pink Pirouette.  I embossed the Pink layer using the new Falling Petals Embossing folder from the Occasions catalogue. These little petals look a lot like hearts to me, so couldn't resist using it for this project. The die cut greeting and the die cut heart were created using the Sunshine Sayings Thinlits from the Annual Catalogue and that sweet little wooden heart is from the Occasions Catalogue in a pack called Sending Love Embellishments.

That wraps up my post for today.  Be sure to stop by later in the week, I will have some more Valentine's projects for you, as well next week, I will appearing on the Roger's Daytime show for a Valentine's Day Special.  I will be sure to share some pictures with you after the show.

So on the the next stop of our hop - Rick Adkins - your gonna love what he has to show us!
