Stampin Celebration Challenge August Inspiration Challenge

Hey there!  Glad you stopped by!

We have a great Inspiration challenge this week over at Stampin' Celebration Challenge!

What did you see first?  I noticed that big beautiful cake made to look like birch bark.  Second, I noticed the flowers and then the colours .  So with that in mind, I got to work! And here is the card I made...

The colours I used are Sahara Sand, Early Espresso and Whisper White.  I added some Old Olive for my leaves.

Can you see the flowers on my card?  They are made with tissue paper!  I folded some white tissue paper into layers and punch each one 3 times from those layers.  I lined them up again and then used my Stampin' up mini stapler to hold them together.  The final step is to fluff them up!  I thought this technique helped them to look a lot like the ones in the picture.

The leaves were created using the Festive Flower Builder Punch.  I used the Thoughtful Banner stampset for my greeting and used the coordinating punch for the banner.  I finished things off with a multi layer Baker's Twine bow.

Be sure to join us at Stampin' Celebration Challenge and show us the creations you make using these pictures as inspiration!  This is a 3 week challenge and we are still looking for guest designers!

Their Challenge is Rainbow - perfect for spring!

I combined an Easter card with the Rainbow theme - I really LOVE how it turned out.

I used one of my favourite stampsets, Work of Art!  There are just SO many uses for this stampset.  Truly..... a work of art!  :)

My greeting is from the Easter Lamb stamp and my little flowers were made using the Petite Petals Punch.

Stampin Celebration Challenge time

Hello everyone,

Thanks for stopping by today!  I have another fabulous challenge to show you today from Stampin' Celebration Challenge blog!  Have you seen our blog lately?  We have a fun new look to our blog.  Check it out and be sure to join in the fun!

This week, we have some sketch inspiration for you.......
http://stampincelebrationblog.blogspot.ca/
Here is the card I created....

My first thought was, what can I make four of?  Then I thought about my Petite Petals stampset with coordinating punch - perfect!  We have so much snow here, and I know some of our friends to the south and east are getting lots and lots of snow, so maybe it was time to add some flowery goodness!

I took my colour cue from the DSP and this pattern is from the English Garden pack.  Whisper White, Old Olive and Mossy Meadow, then I added some Blackberry Bliss for the flowers and greeting.

I popped everything up on dimensionals to give it some depth and then to finish it all off, I added some of our tiniest rhinestones to the centers of the flowers!  I love that they come in different sizes.  :)

Now....head on over to Stampin' Celebration Challenge and see all of the fab creations that were made with this sketch in mind...and don't forget to join the fun!!

Stampin Celebration Challenge Time!

Hello stampers!

Welcome back.  We have a wonderful challenge over at Stampin Celebration Challenge this week!  It has fabulous, fun pictures to inspire you.  Here is our challenge inspiration...

The first thing I noticed were the colours - bright blues and bold oranges - such a fun combo, don't ya think?  The second thing my eyes ran to, was the orange chevron pattern on what I think is burlap and the third thing that really jumped out at me was the hardwood strips behind the flowers.

I am so excited to show you the card I created!  Here it is.....

I started with a Crumb Cake card base then added a layer of Night of Navy cardstock stamping my Hardwood background stamp using Night of Navy Ink!  I have been wanting to try this in a while - I just LOVED how it turned out!

I wrapped the Night of Navy layer with a strip of my burlap ribbon and then layered a strip of Pumpkin Pie Chevron DSP onto the top of the ribbon.

My flower was created using Pumpkin Pie Ink on Pumpkin Pie cadstock. I stamped it with the flower from the Crazy about You stampset.  I did this twice and layered my flowers in a staggered sort of way.  My flower center was just a scap of Night of Navy punched with the Petite Petals Punch.

The greeting I chose is from the set And Many More - a fabulous set that has SO many wonderful greetings - a must have!  It was stamped in Night of Navy onto Curmp Cake cardstock.

I polished my card off with some some twine.

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to check out my blog later in the week for the some fall projects I am making for my next appearance on Roger's Daytime!  I am really looking forward to being a part of their show again this year!

Case this Sketch!

Hello my stampin' friends!

The card I have to show you today I created for my card class and used the Case this Sektch #123.

For this week's card class I wanted to focus on using some retired products - my favourites....and the Bloosom Punch is top of my list!  I just love this punch AND it's matching stampset and they are both retiring on June 1!

The patterned paper that I used is from the DSP stack in the Occasions catalogue.  It was tailored for Valentine's cards, but I think the black and white patterns can be used at anytime of year.

The greeting is from the Sassy Salutations Stampset and it isn't retiring - whew!  SO glad it will be around for a while longer!

Be sure to stop by to see all of the great cards created at Case this Sketch!

Mother's Day with Stained Glass Technique and SUO Challenge 121

Happy Wednesday friends!

I have another Mother's Day card for you and I decided to create it using the challenge happening over at SU Only Challenges #121.  The challenge is to make Mother's Day card or gift - perfect timing wouldn't you say?

I wanted to try something different and I wanted to dive into my unopened pack of Vellum Cardstock.  So I googled around to find some great techniques using vellum and I stumbled across this old site called Stamping 411 - can see their Vellum page here!  They made 3 lovely cards using some different techniques with vellum.  I loved their card so much that I used their colour cue too!

I decided to do a 'lazy stained glass technique' - I don't really know if there is such a thing, so maybe I just created it!  lol

Instead of heat embossing, I decided to use my Staz On Inkpad to on one side of the vellum and then colour with my Stampin' Write Markers on the other.  I really liked the way it turned out, AND I didn't have to colour it perfectly either - another reason this could be called the 'lazy stained glass technique'.

The stampsets I used for this card are the new Petal Potpourri Stampset, the Petite Petals Stampset and the Retired Delightful Dozen Stampset.

The colours I used are Rose Red, Pear Pizzaz and Whisper White.

Thank you for stopping by!

Mother's Day with The Friday Mashup!

Well hi there,

So glad you stopped by today!  I have a Mother's day Card for you.  I know, I know a bit early, but I don't think you can be too ready for celebrating your mom!

I used the layout sketch challenge over at The Friday Mashup....challenge 205 to be exact.  Check out all of the wonderful cards made with this inspiration here.

When I saw this sketch, the first thing I thought of was flowers, lots and lots of flowers - perfect for moms, don't ya think?

So, I pulled out my three favourite flower punch and matching stampset combos - Mixed Bunch with Blossom Punch, Petite Petals stampset and punch as well as Flower Shop with Pansy Punch.

The Mixed Blossom set has different options for the flower centers, where as the other two don't.  So to make them a bit more matchy-matchy, I coloured the flower center before I stamped them onto Whisper White Cardstock.

I used my Scalloped Edge Border Punch with some more Whisper White, I just love the yellow and white combo!  My 'Mom' stamp is from the retired set called Family Reunion, a great one to hang onto if you have it.

Well, what do you think? I hope my cards has provided you with some Inkspiration!
