Curtain Call of Rainbows!

Hello there,

So glad you could stop by today.

I have a fun card that I made for a really fun challenge over at Curtain Call!

Their Challenge is Rainbow - perfect for spring!

Here is the card that I made....

I combined an Easter card with the Rainbow theme - I really LOVE how it turned out.

I used one of my favourite stampsets, Work of Art!  There are just SO many uses for this stampset.  Truly..... a work of art!  :)

My greeting is from the Easter Lamb stamp and my little flowers were made using the Petite Petals Punch.

Be sure to 'hop' on over to Curtain Call to see all of the wonderful creations.

Stampin Celebration Challenge

Hey there stampers...

It's Stampin' Celebration Challenge time!  Did you join us last time for our picture inspiration?  This week we have a really great sketch to play along with.  I LOVE sketch challenges.

Here is the sketch...

What is the first stampset that comes to mind for you?  There are so many options!  I first thought of balloons and birthdays.  You can never have enough birthday cards!  So with that in mind, here is the card I created using this sketch....

I wanted to create something birthday and I thought right away of my little paper stack that I have been neglecting lately.....Cherry on Top!  I love the bright, bold colours in this stack - perfect for a birthday card!

My card base is Crushed Curry, with a layer of Whisper White, then Bermuda Bay which I embossed with my Decorative Dots Embossing folder.  The layer of DSP running width way across the center of my card, is topped with some Vellum Cardstock that I stamped my greeting directly on.  (Be sure to leave some extra drying time when stamping directly on Vellum.)  My balloon and greeting are stamped with Watermelon Wonder.

Finally, I added some Crushed Curry Bakers twine to my balloon and popped my balloon up using dimensionals.

Be sure to see all of the wonderful creations the design team at Stampin' Celebration Challenge has made using this sketch.  AND be sure to play along - there are 2 whole weeks to join the fun!

Thanks for stopping by!

A Royalty Christmas with Snow Friends

Hello there,

Luckily, over at Stampin' Royalty Challenge, they have a winter theme challenge for us!

Have you seen all the great cards there?  You can find them here ....Stampin' Roaylty Challenge SR#305

SO, I have another Christmas card for you today using a stampset and matching framelits that I just LOVE!

Yep, you guessed it, Snow Friends!  These little guys are the cutest!  Just like playing with paper dolls.

I used my decorative dots  to create some snow falling in the background and used some of the shimmery white cardstock to make a little snow hill for my snow friends to play on.  I thought it looked a little pain, so I added a Christmas tree using the Festival of Trees stampset and coordinating tree punch.

Finally, I topped my tree with a silver star.

Merry Christmas?

Hello all,

Can you believe it is just a little more than 2 months 'till Christmas!?  Have you started your cards?  I always find it easier if I do a little bit at a time.  SO.....I start holding Christmas card classes in August (yes, that reads August) and I host 1 per month through to December.  That way, my customers have a stash of hand made cards to give before all that Christmas rush begins!

The card I have to show you today is a Christmas card that I created in September.  I made this card for my besties to make while we were at our Women's Wellness Weekend - the BEST weekend of the year!  We participate in some of the planned activites, arm knitting was one of them (it was totally fun) but mostly we scrapbook and talk and giggle!  Anyhow, we made this card while we were there.

Aren't these little snowmen adorable?!  The Snow Friends set with matching framelites were top of my list to get from the Holiday catalogue! LOVE them. The framelits make cutting-out these little guys and all of their accessories so easy.  It was like making paper dolls.

I wanted to give them some snow to stand in front of but leaving some room for stamping at the bottom.  So I used my decorative dots embossing folder and left the bottom of the cardstock sticking out of the bottom of the embossing folder and made sure my acrylic plates didn't go beyond the embossing folder - that gave me some flat stampin' room.

My card base is Cherry Cobbler and my DSP is Whipser White and Cherry Cobbler.  The inks I chose are Base Black Archival ink, Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler.

Thanks for stopping by.

Stampin' Celebration Challenge.

Hey there, glad you stopped by, because....

It's Stampin' Celebration Challenge time and we have a great sketch for you!  Have you joined my blog from there?  If not you HAVE to stop in there to check out the great inspiration and the details of the challenge.  But first, here is the sketch......

Fun, isn't it?  I love the nice big shape in the center of the card!  I knew right away what I wanted to make and who I wanted to make it for - a giant flower for one of my best friends.  Here is my card....

I was trying for a giant sunflower - how did I do?  I do love how this card turned out even if it isn't quite a sunflower.   lol

I used my Floral Frames Collection to create the two largest flower petals as well as the flower center and I used the Flower Medallion Punch to create the smallest round of petals.

To add more detail and dimension to my flower, I embossed the center of the flower and I sponged all the petals edges.

For my card colours I used a Sahara Sand card base with a layer of Early Espresso and then a layer of Woodgrain DSP - there are some nice ones in the DSP packages available in the new Holiday Catalogue.  My flower was cut from Hello Honey and sponged in the same colour, and the flower center is cut from Early Espresso.

My greeting can be found in the And Many More stampset, an awesome set to have in your collection - so many occasions to choose from!

I added some burlap ribbon for behind my flower.  A perfect accent to the sunflower - totally reminds me of fall.

Here is another look at my card.  Please be sure to join us for our challenge at Stampin Celebration Challenge!

Happy 95th!

Hey there Stampers!

I have a really fun card for you today and I can't wait to share it with you, but first I will share with you how I came to create it.

My good friend, Kyla, opened a flower shop about a year ago and she asked me if I would sell my cards in her store!  I was thrilled and of course said yes!  I have been selling my cards there ever since.  A few weeks ago a customer was looking for 2 specialty cards to give to someone who was turning 95, so she gave me a call.  Yah!  I took down all the details and got to work!

I knew that it was a fall birthday, that she wanted '95' on the cards and she just loved all of the other things that I had made - no pressure!  ;)

So here is one of the cards I came up with.....

I wanted to incorporate a little sunflower (the flower of fall in my mind) some wood grain stamping and some wonderful fall colours - that plaid pattern was a great touch too!

I was really pleased with how it all turned out.  My customer loved it too!

Thank you for stopping by!  Happy Stampin'

Nanny's Birthday card

Hi there,

This past Sunday was my mom's 65th birthday.  My dad surprised her with a birthday party on Saturday evening with some of their friends.  But, my brother, sister and I wanted to do something special from us.  So, we surprised her with a BBQ lunch and a present...we bought her a Pandora bracelet! She loved it - who wouldn't!

To top it all off....I made her a card ;)

This was the perfect opportunity to use my new favourite stampset - Sprinkles of Life!  This was my chance to use the cupcake images.

She loved it too - she keeps all the cards I make for her.  Thanks mom!

Here is a picture of my mom and some of her grandchildren...some couldn't be there.

Happy birthday mom!

Valentine's

Hello my stampin' friends!

I hope your week is going well!  Thank you for stopping by.

My cards today are inkspired ;) from some left over card class packages I had sitting on my crafting table!  I had these left over from a Christmas card class that one of my friends could make at the last minute.  Life can be busy right?

The colours happen the prefect for Valentines too!  So I thought it would be fun to come up with three different cards using the same card kits.  I used different stamps and punches to get some different Valentines looks.  I think they turned out cute - what a great way to clear some space on my table!

For my first card, I used the new Confetti Heart Boarder Punch!  Love this one!  The stamp is from the new You Plus Me Stampset

For my second card, I used the Retired Small Heart Punch.  I love this Twitterpated stamp from the You Plus Me set - so cute!

And finally, for my last card, I used the new Sweetheart Punch - I just love how curvy it is.

I hope this inkspires you to be creative with the items on your table.

Christmas with Freshly Made Sketches #162

Hey there my Stampin' friends,

Thank you for dropping in today!  I don't know where the time has passed since I last blogged.  Where have I been?

Well, I have stamped at 2 private parties - it is always fun to meet some great new stampin' friends - and hockey, hockey, hockey!  All three of my boys are right in the midst of their hockey season!  I have to admit, I LOVE to watch them play!

Well, you stopped by to see a new card from me.....and I have a Christmas card to show you today.  I decided to get into the grove using the great sketch challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches!  This is a good one!

I knew I wanted to use the stampset Merry Everything.  And I knew that I wanted to use the stamp "A Very Merry Everything  to you and Yours" - I think it is perfect for the chalkboard technique!  This set is awesome to have...I have used it for Thanksgiving, Halloween and now Christmas.  It even has a matching punch!

I started with a Real Red card base and layered it up with Whisper White embossed using the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder - I think it looks like snow!  I added a strip of Red Glimmer paper to add some sparkle to my card.

I stamped my image onto Basic Black Cardstock and used my Scalloped Tag Punch to make it into a tag.  I wanted to use this punch because it is wider then the Note Tag Punch that is a perfect match to the set.

I used the smallest star in the Star Framelit set and used my mini star punch from my Mini Merry Punches set.  I finished my card off with a little ribbon bow.

Be sure to stop on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog to see all of the fabulous creations!
