Blogging Friends Blog Hop all in Red!

Image may contain: text

Hello my stampin' friends!

It is the first of the month...and y'all know that that means - time for another fun blog hop with my Blogging Friends.  We have a super fun hop today - all things RED!  Perfect for February.

For this card I wanted to use a stampset and framelits that I haven't used in a while and that is one of my favourites - the Jar of Love and Every Day Jar Framelits.  They can both be found in the Annual Catalogue.

With our theme being red, I automatically thought love.  Did you as well? But I wanted to showcase a card you could send to anyone who you love, best friend, child, someone who just means a lot.  Here is my card....

I LOVE how it turned out!  The colours are Real Red, Whisper White and Basic Grey.  To create the jar, I stamped directly onto the Whisper White using Basic Grey ink (handle included), then I stamped onto Vellum Cardstock also using Basic Grey.  I then cut it out using the framelits and attached the Vellum jar directly on top of the Whisper White Jar.   Wonder how you don't see the adhesive behind it?  I used Glue Dots in each of the four corners.  I did wrap my ribbon around the Vellum jar before putting it into place.

See those darling little hearts?  Yep, one of the framelits that come with the set!  Who knew?  I hand't noticed them before.  The sentiment is also from the stampset.  Many cute sayings with this set too.

Picture Perfect Birthday

Hello stampin' friends,
So glad you stopped by today.  I have a Picture Perfect Birthday card for you. lol  I just love the name of this stampset!

I created this card for my most recent card class and they felt slightly streeetched in their stampin' so to speak.  Between the giggles and lining up the insides of the bows, they had a great time.

The greeting and the bows are both included in the stampset!  I think this set is a welcome addition to any collection - so many birthday options.  And couldn't you see the bows on a Christmas card too? Picture them in red and green - so fun.

Thanks for stopping buy.

Another Picture Perfect Birthday

Hey there,

I have a super simple birthday card for you today. I used Picture Perfect Birthday stampset from the Occasions Catalogue.  It is such a versatile stampset - a must have for all types of birthday cards.

I hopped onto the sketch challenge over at Paper Craft Crew to assist with the design.  Here is my card....

Here is the sketch for the challenge...

Play along with the Paper Craft Crew for Sketch Challenge 277. The challenge starts January 24, 2018 and ends January 30, 2018 at 1 PM EST. I started with the free Bubbles and Fizz DSP that I got with one of my $60 orders and then decided on the colours to use.  I love these bright colours - Calypso Coral, Bermuda Bay, Lemon Lime Twist and Daffodil Delight.

To create the candles, I inked up my base and then stamped off on a scrap piece of paper, then stamped it onto my square. The pattern for each candle is full strength ink.  The greeting is from the Picture Perfect Birthday set as well.

Here is the paper pack that I got for free when I placed my $60 order.  If you are interested in learning more about Sale-a-bration, please message me.  I would be happy to give you all the details including the catalogues.

Each month there is a theme.  January's theme is Favorite Sale-a-bration Or Occasions Catalogue Products.

YEAH!  LOVE this challenge.  There are so many wonderful things to choose from!  I will share with you my favourite from both the Sale-a-bration AND Occasions catalogue. These are the first items I knew I had to have from both catalgoues.  Can you guess?

Here is my card....

I just love this new bundle AND the coordinating designer series paper is SO CUTE!!  The colours are bright and bold - perfect for some mid winter cheer.  The colours are Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral, Basic Grey, Daffodil Delight and Lemon Lime Twist.

The bundle is from the Occasions catalgoue and the patterned paper is free with a $60 purchase and can be found in the Sale-a-bration broucher.

For my card, I stamped both bottles using tone on tone - Lemon Lime Ink on Lemon Lime cardstock as well as the Bermuda Bay ink on Bermuda Bay cardstock.  I stamped the greeting with Bermuda Bay ink onto Calypso Coral cardstock.  The ribbon I used is from the Annual Catalogue and it is the Lemon Line Twist Ombre ribbon.

I am a very busy mom of three boys and when there is an opportunity to buy a product that I can use for making masculine cards and scrapbook pages, I do it.  Also, as a hockey mom (Canadian family with 3 boys, hockey is always on our calendar, lol), do you see what I see in these framelits?  I see 2 different size hockey sticks and pucks.  Win / win for me.
Bubble Over Photopolymer Bundle
Price: $52.00

I hope you enjoyed my card. If you liked it, please hop on back to Kylie's blog and choose it for one of your favourites.

Global Design Project

Hello there,

Glad you stopped by today.  I have a CASE card to share with you.  This one was especially fun as the style is a bit out of my comfort zone, but I love it.  Here is my card...

It is the most recent challenge over at Global Design Project.  The challenge is to CASE the Designer.  The card is fabulous, so I was happy to try to put my spin on it.  Here is the challenge information.
Isn't it beautiful!  I love the mostly monochromatic colours, the nesting of many shapes and textures and a couple of different types of ribbon!

I knew I wanted to use some hearts in my nesting, along with another shape and a pop of colour.

I used the Bloomin' Heart Thinlit as my lacy back layer, Stitched Shapes for my pop of colour and the Sweet and Sassy Thinlits for my heart front and center.

My Happy Anniversary sentiment is from my all time favourite sets, Teeny Tiny Wishes - there is EVERY Occasion captured in this set.  Really a must have.

The colours are Basic Grey, Whisper White and Sweet Sugarplum which will be retiring at the end of June!  I will be wanting to use this a ton while I can.  lol

I would love to hear from you!  If you are in Canada and need the new Occastions Catalogue and don't already have a demonstrator, I would love to send you one.  Just leave me a message.

Happy Stampin'

Thanks a latte Freshly Made Sketches

Hello,

A quick post with a quick card for you today. It is back to school for my boys tomorrow and I want to make the morning as easy as possible!  They have had a two week break for Christmas and they are NOT looking forward to go back.  ;)

I stopped on over to Freshly Made Sketches and saw a super cute sketch and new I had to join the fun.

I am so ready to start creating things other than Christmas cards.  SO, I pulled out my Coffee Cafe bundle to create a cute thank you card.  I just love it.  It is such a great, versatile set that is in the Annual Catalogue.

Here is my card.....

I used the Coffee Break DSP to create the colours combination.  I used Early Espresso for the card base with a layer of Pear Pizzaz then the DSP on top.  I also layered the background for my coffee cup with Pear Pizzaz and a different pick of DSP from the Coffee Break package.

The inks I used are Crumb Cake on the Whipped Cream, Soft Sky for the hearts on the coffee cup and Early Espresso on the Thanks A Latte label.

I finished the card with a big piece of beautiful Pear Pizzaz  ribbon and a nice big bow - who doesn't love a great big bow.

Thanks for joining me today.  Be sure to see all of the wonderful creations made with this sketch in mind over at Freshly Made Sketches.

Global Design Project - Challenge 119!

Hello, thanks for stopping by today!

I realized that I hand't shared my favourite Christmas card that I created this year! Thankfully, the folks at Global Design Project have a 2 week challenge still open that allows us the opportunity to share one last holiday card from 2017.

Here is southern Ontario, it has been -38 degrees and snowing and blowing with road closures and winter advisories in full effect, day after day, SO it still looks like a wonderful Christmas day out there and why not share just one last card, right?

Every year, my card class ladies pick a favourite out of all the cards we make and this one was their favourite.  I hope you like it as much as they did. ;)

Here is the theme from Global Design Project...

Here is my card...

I used some of my most favourite things creating this card.  This former bundle form the Holiday Catalogue was the first bundle I knew I had to have.  Although this is no longer a bundle, you can still order the framelits and stampset individually - I was SO happy to see that Stampin'UP! decided to carry them over.  One of the other favourite items I used are the Stitched Shapes Framelits.

Here is a close up of the detail that these framelits offer!  The Stitched Shapes Framelits and the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits are a perfect complement to each other.  I resisted my usual and didn't attached a bow - I know, I know - I wanted the paper detail to speak for themselves.

I also love that the greeting included a family message.

Be sure to stop on by and see of the wonderful creations that the Global Design Team and the participants in this challenge have created - they are very inspiring.
