Ride with Me to Seize the Birthday!

HI there!

Thank you for joining me on this beautiful fall day!  Today is another fabulous day with lots of beautiful colours in the trees.  This is a busy week for me as I am preparing for a very large Christmas card class.  Stay tuned for some pictures later this week!

But first, let's pay along with the birthday challenge over at Seize the Birthday!  It's a kids Birthday theme.  Super fun!

I have been loving the Ride with Me Bundle, most particularly, the stampset.  I just LOVE the old style pick-up truck and all of the little accessories that you can'put' inside the back.

On this birthday card, I used the balloons - perfect for a kids birthday.  I used bright colours to colour them in.

Although I love using my blends to colour, I decided to use them just to highlight some accents on the truck.  I stamped the truck in Daffodil Delight onto Daffodil Delight cardstock, then I used my blends to accent in a few places. Have you tried using bends on coloured cardstock?  It is a little different in that the colour really soaks in, but I love the subtle effect.

Be sure to stop on over to Seize the Birthday to see all of the wonderful creations using this theme!

Summer Inspiration with TGIF!

 Hey there stampers!

SO happy you stopped by today!  Summer break is about to start here in Ontario and what better way to celebrate than to join a challenge with some summer fun attached to it?
TGIF Challenges has an awesome summer inspired picture as inspiration for us this week.

Doesn't this just scream summer? Oh my gosh a lemon-aid stand with bright colours, fun banners and super cute signs.
Here is the card I made with this sketch in mind.

I used my hardwood background stamp for the first layer on my card.  I then used the Pick a Pennant stampset to create the cute little banners, hearts and my yellow song bird.  I love the bright colours that this card has.

Be sure to stop on over to TGIF Challenges to see all of the wonderful creations that are made with this inspiration in mind.

Happy Birthday with Freshly Made Sketches

Hello everyone,

I have a fun and quick birthday card here for you today using the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches!  I love getting their e-mails and seeing what inspiration they have for us each time!

http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.ca/2018/02/freshly-made-sketches-326-sketch-by-jen.html

Neat eh?  I am usually a pretty symmetrical girl - love everything in balance - A type or OCD not sure what that says about me, but I was up for the challenge of doing things a little off center.

Here is my card...
It was a quick card to put together.  I took my colour cues from the DSP, which although retired, is awesome for birthday cards.

I wanted the greeting and the ribbon steal the show.  I framed the greeting with the Stitched Shapes Framelits (they are never off my work table for long) and added a layer with my Layering Ovals Framelits.

Thanks for stopping by.  Be sure to see all of the cards created with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week.

Another Picture Perfect Birthday

Hey there,

I have a super simple birthday card for you today. I used Picture Perfect Birthday stampset from the Occasions Catalogue.  It is such a versatile stampset - a must have for all types of birthday cards.

I hopped onto the sketch challenge over at Paper Craft Crew to assist with the design.  Here is my card....

Here is the sketch for the challenge...

Play along with the Paper Craft Crew for Sketch Challenge 277. The challenge starts January 24, 2018 and ends January 30, 2018 at 1 PM EST. I started with the free Bubbles and Fizz DSP that I got with one of my $60 orders and then decided on the colours to use.  I love these bright colours - Calypso Coral, Bermuda Bay, Lemon Lime Twist and Daffodil Delight.

To create the candles, I inked up my base and then stamped off on a scrap piece of paper, then stamped it onto my square. The pattern for each candle is full strength ink.  The greeting is from the Picture Perfect Birthday set as well.

Here is the paper pack that I got for free when I placed my $60 order.  If you are interested in learning more about Sale-a-bration, please message me.  I would be happy to give you all the details including the catalogues.

Each month there is a theme.  January's theme is Favorite Sale-a-bration Or Occasions Catalogue Products.

YEAH!  LOVE this challenge.  There are so many wonderful things to choose from!  I will share with you my favourite from both the Sale-a-bration AND Occasions catalogue. These are the first items I knew I had to have from both catalgoues.  Can you guess?

Here is my card....

I just love this new bundle AND the coordinating designer series paper is SO CUTE!!  The colours are bright and bold - perfect for some mid winter cheer.  The colours are Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral, Basic Grey, Daffodil Delight and Lemon Lime Twist.

The bundle is from the Occasions catalgoue and the patterned paper is free with a $60 purchase and can be found in the Sale-a-bration broucher.

For my card, I stamped both bottles using tone on tone - Lemon Lime Ink on Lemon Lime cardstock as well as the Bermuda Bay ink on Bermuda Bay cardstock.  I stamped the greeting with Bermuda Bay ink onto Calypso Coral cardstock.  The ribbon I used is from the Annual Catalogue and it is the Lemon Line Twist Ombre ribbon.

I am a very busy mom of three boys and when there is an opportunity to buy a product that I can use for making masculine cards and scrapbook pages, I do it.  Also, as a hockey mom (Canadian family with 3 boys, hockey is always on our calendar, lol), do you see what I see in these framelits?  I see 2 different size hockey sticks and pucks.  Win / win for me.
Bubble Over Photopolymer Bundle
Price: $52.00
Bubbles & Fizz Designer Series Paper
Price: $0.00

I hope you enjoyed my card. If you liked it, please hop on back to Kylie's blog and choose it for one of your favourites.

If you live in Canada, and don't have a demonstrator, I would love to be yours.  Need a catalogue, just let me know.

Stampin Clelebration Sketch SC107

Hello and welcome!

I am SO excited to have been chosen to be a designer for the Design team at Stampin' Celebration Challenge blog!  What an honour!

Our challenge this week is a sketch - I just love sketch challenges.  They always help me to expand my card designs.  Here is the sketch that we were working with....
...and here is my card....

If you are just getting to know me and my blog, I have three wonderful boys and all three have birthdays in the second half of June!  So, I wanted to use this sketch to make a great card for my youngest who is turning 7 on the 25th.

I chose the stampset Sea Street and the classic nautical colours red, white and blue.  I used my circle framelits to create the cut outs for our little sea creatures to pop out from.  The crab and lobster just make me smile.

I used my Bitty Banner Framelits to cut the banner for my greeting as well as the frame for my greeting.  And, the Happy Birthday has come from my brand new Sprinkles of Life stampset.

Be sure to check out all of the great cards over at Stampin' Celebration and join the fun.  We can't wait to see what you create!

Happy Stampin'

Kids Birthday

Hello friends,

Glad you stopped by today.  I have a kid inspired card for you!  I can't seem to have enough of these in my stash - these and cards for the men in my life!

For this card I used some paper from the retired Halloween DSP pack - the colours are a perfect match for a kids birthday - I just LOVE when things can be used for more than one purpose!  You have to make the most of you supplies, right?

The stampset I used is the retired Bring on the Cake.  I coloured the letters using the matching colours of Stampin' Write markers - so you could tailor it to ANY DSP.

I added two banners and some two toned trim!

I hope you like my card!

Happy Stampin'!
