Hey there stampers,

It's September 1st and ya know what that means......Yep time for another Bog Hop with my Blogging Friends!

Today, we are celebrating our 1 year Blog-aversary! Can you believe it? One whole year has passed since we began this wonderful journey. And, because that is really something to celebrate - we have some awesome surprises for you - like a VERY special guest Blogging Friend and some of our veteran Blogging Friends have some candy to give awaySo, be sure to stop by all the blogs so you don't miss a thing!

First, let me show you the projects I made to share with you today....

My first project is a celebration card.  Of course!  I thought I would capture 2 celebrations at one time.  My middle son's baseball team finished 2nd at seasons end!  This was his first year playing baseball and he absolutely LOVED it!  All the success they had this season was a direct result of their coach.  So, a card was in order.  :)

I used my Stars Framelits and the Star Confetti Punch.  I also used the new Thoughtful Banner stampset with coordinating Duet Banner Punch.  The DSP is from the Floral Boutique pack and looks just like the stripes on their uniform!

My next set of projects are thank you gifts I made for some co-workers from my day job and I just LOVE how they turned out!

I used the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits to create these treat holders (a full sized chocolate bar fits very nicely inside). I used some of my favourite retired DSP from my stash to make these special thank you gifts.

Thank you for stopping by and sharing in our Blog-aversary!

Be sure to hop on through the blogs by clicking on the names listed below.  If you are working your way down our list of blogs, your next stop is Rick Adkins - he is SO talented!  I can't wait to see what he made for us this time! Notice our **celebrity Blogging Friend ;)

Thank you Sprinkles of Life!

Hello Friends,

I hope your week is going well so far.  Happy Canada Day for my Canadian readers!  I hope you were able to celebrate this wonderful country of ours!

My family went to my parents house.  They live in a retirement community where they are always celebrating.....So naturally, Canada Day was a great reason to celebrate!

There was live music, a BBQ, face painting and a parade that is lead by the Town Cryer - awesome.  My family has made it a tradition to participate in the parade with decorated golf carts, my kids just love it!  Here are some pictures from our fun day.

And now for the real reason you stopped by.....a card.  One of my latest card classes focused on Thank you's and this card is a perfect reflection of our day yesterday.  A thank you card using the Sprinkles of Life stampset.

Our weather was cloudy with a few rays of sunshine, but mostly we were thankful to celebrate Canada Day with family and friends.

Thank you for stopping by.

Just Add Ink for a Teacher Thank you!

Hello there,

I hope your week is off to a really great start!

This week I am busy making teacher thank you gifts and cards for my kids to take to school with them - the count down is on and they are just SO exctied to be finished school!

I stopped on over to Just Add Ink for some inspiration and what did I see...

Just Add Ink #267....Just Add Typography!

I am sure everyone is having the same thought....what does that mean?  So they also gave us the definition:
"Using font or type to create print"

So, I had a great idea.  Use the paper from the new lightweight DSP paper pack.  One of the sheets has big bold numbers on it and the colour scheme is Basic Black and Very Vanilla - perfect for my two older son's who have male teachers!

Here is my card...

I wanted to use up some of my Chalkboard paper that has recently retired (sniff, sniff) a great option for a teacher card, don't  you think?
I wanted to coordinate the gift bag so I used some of this great DSP to cover the side of a paper gift bag.  Inside, I added some treats with handmade tag.

Thank you for stopping by!

Another Teacher Thank you!

Hello!  Glad you stopped by.

I have a really quick post for you today.......another Teacher Thank you card that my kids took to school with them on their last day!  I just love making these cards - they are just so fun!

I finally dusted off my Hardwood stamp and thought it would be a great background for this card.  I stamped it in Baked Brown Sugar onto Very Vanilla Cardstock.  I ran some Real Red cardstock through my BigShot using the retired Cannery framelits for the apples - I am just not done playing with this yet!

My greeting is from Lots of Thanks and I used my favourite punch for greetings - Decorative Label.  I punched an extra one in the Early Espresso to match my card base and cut it in half to make a 'frame' for my greeting so that it stands out even more.

I did some sponging to soften the look and added some Real Red Ribbon for a finishing touch.

I hope you enjoyed my card.

Teacher thank you!

Hello there!  So glad you stopped by!

I have been having SO much trouble posting lately!  I think I have it all sorted out!  Turns out I needed a different search engine - who knew!

Anyway, I have some card to show you that I wanted to post for you last week - the last week of school for my brude....better late than never I hope you'll say.

So here is a simple thank you card - chalkboard inspired - I just love that technique!  I used very teacher traditional colours (red, white and black) and the must have thank you set, Lots of Thanks!  I rounded my corners and added some of that wonderful chevron ribbon.  I cut it in half length wise and with the two pieces....wrapped one around and one was for my tie.

The A+ stamp is from an old set that I just had to keep for my collection, perfect for cards like this and all those school scrapbook pages I have been meaning to do!

Happy Stampin!

Retired products are available only while supplies last!  If there is anything that you are wanting, don't wait, things are sell out fast! You can shop on line here.

So why does Stampin'UP! retire products?  Well, we are gearing up our new Catalogue and a new Catalogue means some exciting new stamps and toys to play with!  And as a demonstrator, I get to have sneak preview!  *squeal*

But before they arrive, let's say farewell to some favourites, shall we?  Here is one I have really enjoyed......Secret Garden!  I LOVE the flowers and it comes with a matching framelits - buy them both to save 15%.  This one is going to stay in my collection for quite some time.

Here is a card I have made using Secret Garden and the framelits.....

Here is a close up of the greeting - you can never have to many 'thank you' cards.  And this greeting is from the set Lots of Thanks, truly a must have!  I also took this opportunity to use 2 of my favourite punches.....the Bitty Butterfly and the Elegant Butterfly punch!  A really great combo!

Field Flowers Thank you

Hello my Stampin' friends,

Today I have a card to show you that I made a few weeks ago with my card class, the ladies really enjoyed making this one.  I love these colours and they are desperately trying to get me into a spring kinda mood!  The good news is that our temperatures here in Ontario are trying to go up on the thermometer!  I can't wait for some of these snow banks to melt - some of them are almost as tall as the hydro lines!  ESH!

Anyway, onto my card  ;)  I used some great tools to make this card...I used some Coordination's cardstock, Banner framelits and my perfect poka dots embossing folder to create the banner. I sanded my poka dots a little bit so we can see the inside colour of the cardstock - so pretty!     My 'thank you' sentiment is from the Lots of Thanks Stampset.

I used my Field Flowers stampset on Very Vanilla which gives some big beautiful flowers.  I stamped each flower twice once in the Blushing Bride and then once again in Primrose Petals to match the cardstock colours.    The green colour I used for the stem is old olive and I used some of the same colour cardstock to frame out my flowers - ties it all together nicely.

I hope you enjoyed my card and some spring inspiration!
