Happy 95th take 2!

Well, hi there!

Happy Monday.  I hope you enjoyed the weekend.

I have the second of two specialty birthday cards for you - if you remember my previous post - this card was created specifically for someone who is turning 95!  Now, that is really something to celebrate.  lol

So, I took the opportunity to use my Balloon Framelits again - they are perfect for a birthday celebration, don't ya think?

I cranked out 3 balloons, 2 in DSP and one in a solid colour, Calyosol Coral.  To the solid ballon, I added an Early Espresso '95', front and center.

This card is similar to the one I created for the latest Stampin' Celebration Challenge.  By the way, if you haven't uploaded your card to the challenge yet, you still have a few more days!  Be sure to check it out.

Anyway, I wanted to show you how different a card can look with simply changing up the colours.  Not much stamping here just the happy birthday message.

I hope you enjoyed my card.  Thanks for stopping by!

It's Stampin' Celebration Challenge time!

Hello my stampin' friends,

Well, today is the last day of summer vacation and tomorrow is the first day of school for my troops!  I can't believe summer is basically over - they are not at all happy about it! lol

On a happier note, it's time to play along with another Stampin' Celebration Challenge!  Did you join us last time?  We had an awesome sketch.  This time we have a fabulous picture for inspiration!  Be sure to join us, won't you?

Here is our challenge....

Beautiful colours was my first thought, then I focused on the circles and poka dots and then I thought of a baby celebration (see the top of the cake).

So here is my card using this challenge....

How did I do?  I just LOVE this colour combo!  The light blues (Pool Party), dark browns (Early Espresso) and the Crumb Cakes, uh, I mean, tans.  lol  Perfect for a new baby or for a birthday celebration.

I used my large Pokadot Embossing folder to give some texture to my background, perfect for the dots in the inspiration.
I stamped one solid balloon in Pool Party using the Celebrate today stampset and then stamped the dot detail stamp, also in Pool Party. I used the coordinating framelits and my BigShot to cut out the balloons and then I cut a third balloon out of Pool Party DSP.
My greeting is from the set Teeny Tiny Wishes!  My all time favourite greeting set - it has a stamp for every occasion - even Halloween!  I punched it out using my Word Window punch and then framed it using the Modern Label Punch.

Be sure to submit your creations over at Stampin' Celebration Challenge!  We can't wait to see what you create!!

Stampin Celebration Challenge with Sprinkles of Life!

Hi there,

Thanks for stopping by!  Today, I am sharing the card I made for our Challenge over at Stampin' Celebration!  Have you seen the Inspiration?  Perfect for this time of year......summer treats!

Here is the Inspiration picture....

YUMO!  So, I just had to use my Sprinkles of Life stampset for this challenge - a perfect match, wouldn't you say?

When I first saw this picture - the blue, the sprinkles and the cherries were the first things that caught my eye.  Second, was the red and white and chocolate brown.  So, I wanted to incorporate all of these things into my card.

Here is the card I made...

I can't tell you how much I LOVE this stampset and coordinating punch!  Sprinkles of Life is Stampin'UP!'s charity stampset for the current annual catalogue.....for every set sold, Stampin'UP! donates $3 to the Ronald McDonald House Charity.  It's a win - win.

Be sure to join us for this really fun challenge!  I can't wait to see what you make!

For Peeps' Sake!

Hello my stampin' Friends!

I hope your weekend is going well!  In my house, this weekend is met with mixed feelings.....it was the last of the kids hockey ice times yesterday!  On one hand it feels so refreshing to have much more free time on our social calendar.  But on the other hand , we know that it will be a few months before we see some of our hockey friends again.  I am very sure it will be just a few days before I hear one of my boys say ' I REALLY miss hockey'!

Well, you stopped by to see what I have created today, so........I had Easter on my mind and the cute For Peeps' Sake! stampset on my table!  I wanted to try a bit of a different layout that I saw somewhere on line - I think Pinterest - don't you just LOVE Pinterest?

I found a great pattern in my DSP pack from Halloween, yep, Halloween! which then gave me the colour of card base.  I chose the other colours for my card by looking at the colour family that the orange came from - easy right?

For Peeps's Sake! is the perfect stampset to use your Stampin' Write Markers to colour the images.  For my little chick, I colour in his beak and eyes after he was on the paper.

My greeting was stamped and then punch with the Modern Label Punch.  I then punched a second in yellow and cut it in half to make my frame - my little magic trick ;)

Any finally, I added some ribbon - voila!  A card is created!

Here is my card.....

Stay tuned later this week, I will be showing you some of my Easter projects I made for my Roger's Daytime TV Easter show.

Field Flowers Thank you

Hello my Stampin' friends,

Today I have a card to show you that I made a few weeks ago with my card class, the ladies really enjoyed making this one.  I love these colours and they are desperately trying to get me into a spring kinda mood!  The good news is that our temperatures here in Ontario are trying to go up on the thermometer!  I can't wait for some of these snow banks to melt - some of them are almost as tall as the hydro lines!  ESH!

Anyway, onto my card  ;)  I used some great tools to make this card...I used some Coordination's cardstock, Banner framelits and my perfect poka dots embossing folder to create the banner. I sanded my poka dots a little bit so we can see the inside colour of the cardstock - so pretty!     My 'thank you' sentiment is from the Lots of Thanks Stampset.

I used my Field Flowers stampset on Very Vanilla which gives some big beautiful flowers.  I stamped each flower twice once in the Blushing Bride and then once again in Primrose Petals to match the cardstock colours.    The green colour I used for the stem is old olive and I used some of the same colour cardstock to frame out my flowers - ties it all together nicely.

I hope you enjoyed my card and some spring inspiration!

Teeny Tiny Wishes Pink Valentine

Hello there!  Thanks for stopping by!

Just a quick post today with a very girly valentine - I just couldn't resist doing something really pink for this one.   I took my color cues from the Designer Series Paper (DSP)...it makes things SO easy!

I started with a basic Whisper White card base and added a layer of Rose Red that matches perfectly to the diamond pattern of the DSP - it is from a retired paper pack.  I cut the white heart using my Heart framelits and used the Full Heart punch to cut the Blushing Bride.

Here is a picture of my card.....

I dry embossed my Blushing Bride heart with my Adorning Accents embossing folder.  I also used the Word Window punch and the Modern Label punch to frame the Happy Valentine's Day stamp from Teeny Tiny Wishes stampset.

And of course a girly card must have some rhinestones!  I just love that they come in different sizes!  I used a larger one on my heart and two smaller ones on either side of my greeting - a perfect way to draw your attention there!

Here is a little closer look at the card.

Here is the complete list of supplies I used...........

Whisper White Cardstock
Rose Red Cardstock
Blushing Bride Cardstock
Designer Series Paper
White Ribbon
Rhinestones
BigShot
Adorning Accents Embossing Folder
Word Window Punch
Modern Label Punch
Full Heart Punch
Heart Framelits
