Happy Birthday Starburst

Hey there stampers,

I hope your week is going well!  I wanted to share a card with you today that I made for my most recent card class.

I used the colour combination challenge over at the Create with Connie and Mary site for my starting point.  It is always great to have a little help with a starting point.

CCMC410

I have to begin by saying that this combo was definitely a challenge for me.  Not colours I would normally put together, but that's what challenges are for, right?  These colour made me think of spring and sunshine

Here is a picture of my card...

I really liked how it turned out.  I hope that this burst of sunshine helps bring some warm weather and sunshine here!

Be sure to stop on over to Create with Connie and Mary to see all of the other wonderful creations made with the colour combo!

Easter with Roger's Daytime

Hello my stampin friends,

I have some fun Easter projects to share with your today.  I recently visited my friends at Roger's TV, Daytime!  We made some really cute Easter projects.

My first picture is of my whole display that I brought for the show.  I always like to display all of the projects that I made.

Here is a close up of one of my Easter cards that I made using the Schoolhouse DSP pack, Festive Flower Punch, Friends and Floral Stampset as well as the greeting on the bottom of the Easter Lamb Stamp.

The other two projects in the picture below are using the Paper Pals stampset and Pyramid Pal Thinlits and coordinating Playful Pals stampset.  I made an Easter Bunny as well as a carrot!  I just LOVE how these little guys turned out.  They perfectly hold about six little chocolate eggs - perfect for co-workers, nieces, nephews and neighbours.  I will make a few of these little guys to give away this weekend.

Here is a close up of an Easter scrapbook page I made for the show.  I used the new Sunburt Thinlit, the Tree Builder Punch, Ovals Thinlits, Fringe Scissors and the Easter Lamb Stamp.

Here is a close up of another one of the Easter cards I made for the show and will have my card class attendees make as one of their Easter cards.  It's so soft and pretty.  Again, DSP is from the Schoolhouse DSP pack.  I used my blender pens to give just a hint of colour to the grass and the ears and cheeks of this little Easter Lamb.

Oh, and my final little pyramid pal! I think he is my favourite!  A cute little frog - perfect for my boys.  An Easter frog? hmmm.....

Here is a another look at the little Easter Bunny.  (We were able to make him live on air!)

...and I couldn't resist a little honeycomb tail.

One final look at my whole display.

Here is a look behind the scenes.  This is what I see when it's not my turn to be live on camera and when the hosts are with another guest.

It is just so much fun!  I have a question about if we can view some of the footage.  If you are a Roger's customer, go to this link..http://www.rogerstv.com/show?lid=12&rid=23&sid=5754  you can view this show.  It originally aired on March 14th.

Seize the Birthday with Case this Sketch!

Hey there stampers,

So glad you stopped by today!  It is the last week of summer break here in Southern Ontario - we have been gearing up for school to start next week, but my kids don't even want to hear the word school!  They are calling it the 'S' word....lol

I have a really fun card to share with you today.  I combined two challenges to get some great inspiration!  Seize the Birthday and Cas(E) this Sketch!  I just LOVE when I can do that!  One has given me a theme to work with and the other has given me the layout - perfect!

The theme over at Seize the Birthday challenge is...

"The Weather"
(Use a weather element on your card and or project.)

And the sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch! is this...

What a fun combo, don't ya think?  Here is what I came up with...

When I thought about using weather, the first thing that came to my mind was using the Sprinkles of Life stampset and coordinating Tree Builder Punch.  The ice cream scoop / cupcake topper also makes the perfect cloud!  Talk about versatile!

I had some left over DSP from last year's Sweet Dreams pack which has little suns on it - way too cute and perfect DSP for this challenge.

Hello You thinlits gave me the word 'happy' and the stampset Celebrate Today for the word 'birthday'.

Hoping you like my card.  Happy Stampin'

Happy Birthday and Sprinkles of Life

Hello stampers!

I have another card to show you today from my Sprinkles of Life card class - this one is my favourite!

The ice cream cone is one of the biggest reasons I HAD to have this stampset and the coordinating Tree Builder Punch.  Can't you just picture a giant ice cream cone running up the side of a scrapbook page?  It is on my to-do list for sure!

The DSP I used is from the Cherry on Top paper stack and the colours I chose for my card are taken directly from the DSP - Whisper White, Watermelon Wonder, Bermuda Bay and then added some Tip Top Taupe.

Here is my card....

Thanks for stopping by.

Curtian Call with Sprinkles!

Glad you have stopped by today.  I have a new card for you using - guess what - Sprinkles of Life!  I hope I have been able to show you how versitile this set is.  The options just keep growing and growing.

The inspiration challenge over at Curtian Call is right up my alley....Orchard is the theme and  Orchards remind me of fall.  Don't get me wrong I love summer, it's my number one season, but around this time of the summer my family craves routine, whether they know it or not.  Fall is awesome for all of it's structure, good night sleeps and therefore less arguments amongst the troops. lol

Anyway, onto the real reason you stopped by.....here is the picture of inspiration.

Screams fall doesn't it? Beautiful!

And my card......

I used some of the new Incolours to create this card, Watermelon Wonder for the apples and flowers, Cucumber Crush for the cardbase, tree leaves and flower stems and finally Tip Top Toupe for the lace trim and the layers behind the greeting and the tree.  The DSP is from the Cherry on Top stack.

Be sure to see all of the creations over at Curtain Call.

Freshly Made Sketches with Sprinkles of Life!

Hello my stampin friends,

So glad you joined me today!  I have another card using my fravourite stampset.....Sprinkles of Life!  I love this set so much that I decided to create a whole class using just this set - I will have a wonderful turnout with 16 ladies participating.  Each participant purchased the stampset ahead of time and so they will make four cards for free!  For those that 'needed' the coordinating punch - and really who doesn't - will get a special free gift from me!

I used the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches (FMS197) to create the layout for this card.   Here is the sketch....

And here is my card...

I took my colour cue from the Cherry on Top DSP stack, ....Bermuda Bay, Watermelon Wonder and Whisper White.  This patterned paper is a perfect match for this stampset!

I wanted to show my guests how to make a delicious cupcake using the coloured ink on the same coloured cardstock, not something I always think to do.  I fussy cut the cupcake base and the candle, but the frosting was punched out using the Tree Builder Punch.

Finally, I added a tiny bit of the coordinating scalloped trim and just tied it in a knot.  I think it looks really pretty that way.

Be sure to stop on over to Freshly Made Sketches to see all of the wonderful card designs.

Nanny's Birthday card

Hi there,

This past Sunday was my mom's 65th birthday.  My dad surprised her with a birthday party on Saturday evening with some of their friends.  But, my brother, sister and I wanted to do something special from us.  So, we surprised her with a BBQ lunch and a present...we bought her a Pandora bracelet! She loved it - who wouldn't!

To top it all off....I made her a card ;)

This was the perfect opportunity to use my new favourite stampset - Sprinkles of Life!  This was my chance to use the cupcake images.

She loved it too - she keeps all the cards I make for her.  Thanks mom!

Here is a picture of my mom and some of her grandchildren...some couldn't be there.

Happy birthday mom!

Stampin Celebration Challenge with Sprinkles of Life!

Hi there,

Thanks for stopping by!  Today, I am sharing the card I made for our Challenge over at Stampin' Celebration!  Have you seen the Inspiration?  Perfect for this time of year......summer treats!

Here is the Inspiration picture....

YUMO!  So, I just had to use my Sprinkles of Life stampset for this challenge - a perfect match, wouldn't you say?

When I first saw this picture - the blue, the sprinkles and the cherries were the first things that caught my eye.  Second, was the red and white and chocolate brown.  So, I wanted to incorporate all of these things into my card.

Here is the card I made...

I can't tell you how much I LOVE this stampset and coordinating punch!  Sprinkles of Life is Stampin'UP!'s charity stampset for the current annual catalogue.....for every set sold, Stampin'UP! donates $3 to the Ronald McDonald House Charity.  It's a win - win.

Be sure to join us for this really fun challenge!  I can't wait to see what you make!

Thank you Sprinkles of Life!

Hello Friends,

I hope your week is going well so far.  Happy Canada Day for my Canadian readers!  I hope you were able to celebrate this wonderful country of ours!

My family went to my parents house.  They live in a retirement community where they are always celebrating.....So naturally, Canada Day was a great reason to celebrate!

There was live music, a BBQ, face painting and a parade that is lead by the Town Cryer - awesome.  My family has made it a tradition to participate in the parade with decorated golf carts, my kids just love it!  Here are some pictures from our fun day.

And now for the real reason you stopped by.....a card.  One of my latest card classes focused on Thank you's and this card is a perfect reflection of our day yesterday.  A thank you card using the Sprinkles of Life stampset.

Our weather was cloudy with a few rays of sunshine, but mostly we were thankful to celebrate Canada Day with family and friends.

Thank you for stopping by.
