Prized Peony

Hey there!

I wanted to share my very first card using the Peony Bundle.  It was for my mom's recent and special birthday!

Hand Stamped Sentiments had a great sketch challenge this week, that I want to play along with.   Here is the sketch.

I turned the sketch and made my card horizontal, I also used a scalloped square instead of a circle. Here is my card.

I LOVE how it turned out.  This is such a pretty set of dies. I love how they fit together and that small scalloped edge that comes with them.  Swoon.

The colours I used are Rococo Rose, Whisper White, Soft Sea Foam, Mint Macaron and a tiny bit of Daffodil Delight

I couldn't help but create a matching tag for my mom's gift - she always loves when I make her cards and tags, but all moms do.  Am I right?  It was a hit.

Blogging Friends Blog Hop!

Hello friends,

I hope you are managing well with all of the changes our daily lives are coping with.

My family and I are doing well.  We like being at home together.  We are keeping busy.   I am making cards and am on a mission to use up my DSP stash.

But today, it is time for a Blogging Friends Blog Hop.  The theme this month is Baby Come Rockin'.  I had a lot of fun with this!  It has been a long time since I have made a baby card and I forgot how fun they are.

I used some of my favourite things on this card.

There is some super sweet stitching on this card which is perfect for a baby card.

First, I used the Stitched be Mine dies to add a small scalloped stitched edge on the Whisper White Layer.  Then I used the largest square from Stitched Shapes dies to frame that adorable kangaroo and baby koala.  Finally, I used the Stitched Rectangle dies to frame the greeting.

The image and greeting is from the Animal Outing stampset.  The images are so cute and perfect for a baby card.  I colour it using my Stampin' Blends, Crumb Cake Combo and Smokey Slate Combo and Flirty Flamingo Combo.  The scalloped Balmy Blue square is the largest of the Scalloped squares in the Layering Square Dies.

The cardstock colours are Balmy Blue and Whisper White.  The ink used Memento Black.

Be sure to hop on through all of my blogging friends links below to see all of the projects made for baby!

I often have a hard time with leaving a lot of white space, but this plaid moose made it pretty easy - he totally steals the show!

I framed him with a scalloped square and popped up on dimensionals.  The greeting is from the bundle too.  The colours I have used are Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green and Whipser White.  The beautiful plaid DSP is called Wrapped in Plaid.

Sending Hugs

Image may contain: text that says 'Kylie Bertucci's International Stampin Up!® Blog Highlights'

Hello everyone!

I am so excited to be participating in Kylie Bertucci's International Blog Highlights this month!

I have made a card for one of my good friends who could use some mail hugs.  She once had a hedgehog as a pet.  The perfect occasion to use the retiring Hedgehugs stampset!  She is the whole reason I purchased this set.  I knew her and her family would love these little images.  :)

In an effort to use up some retired DSP, I thought the Painted Season's DSP was the perfect match for the Hedgehugs stampset.

This card is a great example of different ways to stamp with colour.  I simply stamped the tree stump, I used my Stampin' Blends to colour the cute little hedgehog and his flower and for the cute little mushrooms, I stamped them once in green and once in red.  Then I fussy cut the mushroom tops and glued them onto the mushrooms.

I love to have many layers on my cards.  I started with an Early Espresso card base, a layer of Poppy Parade, then the DSP. I cut a scalloped square in Poppy Parade and a scalloped circle in Early Espresso.

Finally, I finished my card with some ribbon and a bow.

Loved how it turned out.

If you want to vote for me you can do this here.

Crazy About Critters

Hey there stampers,

I have another super cute card to share with you today featuring the Playful Pals stampset and Stampin' Blends.  I matches perfectly with the challenge over at The Paper Players - Crazy About Critters.

I just love these cute little guys.  This platypus is so cute.

I used my stampin' blends to colour him in.  I used Basic Grey, Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie

The sentiment is from Picture Perfect Birthday.

Be sure to stop on over to The Paper Players to see all the cards with critters.

Happy New Year!

Hello there,

For my final post of 2018, I wanted to participate in two wonderful challenges - Freshly Made Sketches and Sunday Stamps.

Here is my card...

Freshly Made Sketches has a super fun sketch to play along with.  I turned my card base and changed the oval to a square.  I love how it turned out.

Sunday Stamps has a fun colour challenge to play with.  I always struggle a bit when it comes to colour challenges, but these colours are so inspiring.

I used the Playful Pals stampset to capture the colours of the colour challenge.  I just love these little guys.  I stamped him directly onto a stitched shape square and then framed it with one of the scalloped squares from the layering squares framelits.  I coloured him in using the Stampin' Blends.

I chose not to put a greeting onto the front of the card and let the design and image take center stage.

Thank you so much for joining me in my stampin' adventure this year.  I am so thankful for each and every one of you.  I wish you all a very happy and healthy new year.

Happy stampin'
